What is a good time frame to do a tune-up, 1.every 6 months?
2.every year?
3.when it runs bad?

Thanks for your help

Service level D includes engine performance test, new plugs, oil, trans. flush, radiator flush, inspection of all systems, and a ton of other preventitiver maitnance. We never bring our cars in except for this. We do oil and stuff ourself usually, but this service level D really helps prevent or uncover potential problems. If you want I can list all they do, but it may have changed since a few years ago when we had it done on our E150 van. SO far I think it will take me about 2-4 years for 30K depending on what happens after my graduation.

95XLT,
Do you do a tune up in between the level D service? or are you saying you only get tune ups 2-4 years? if so that's great, but is that good.

2-4 years to get 30k miles. We do that in 1 year. About every 2 months (I never seem to get the time) we change the oil. I change the plugs once a year (unless I'm bored and do it earlier). I change the plug wires when I change the plugs and change the belt at the same time. I haven't had to change the tranny fluid yet since we replaced the tranny 30k miles after we bought the truck and only have 25k or so miles on the new tranny. I will problably change the tranny fluid soon (I change it on the van about every 40k miles - every 2 years).

It really depends on how hard you are on your vehicle. If you only do highway miles you can normally wait longer (unless it is california type freeways).
