Thanks for your help X-Man 01EB5.0 05-03-2000, 08:59 PM I send mine is for service level D every 30,000 miles ------------------ TravisN1@AOL.COM 1995 XLT 4x4 80,000 miles K&N Drop-in Bosch +4's BFG Long Trails Have a nice day! :-) X-Man 05-04-2000, 11:44 AM 95XTL, what service level D consist of? And how long does it take you to reach 30k? 01EB5.0 05-04-2000, 08:50 PM Service level D includes engine performance test, new plugs, oil, trans. flush, radiator flush, inspection of all systems, and a ton of other preventitiver maitnance. We never bring our cars in except for this. We do oil and stuff ourself usually, but this service level D really helps prevent or uncover potential problems. If you want I can list all they do, but it may have changed since a few years ago when we had it done on our E150 van. SO far I think it will take me about 2-4 years for 30K depending on what happens after my graduation. ------------------ TravisN1@AOL.COM 1995 XLT 4x4 80,000 miles K&N Drop-in Bosch +4's BFG Long Trails Have a nice day! :-) X-Man 05-06-2000, 10:02 AM 95XLT, Do you do a tune up in between the level D service? or are you saying you only get tune ups 2-4 years? if so that's great, but is that good. X-Man Maniak 05-06-2000, 08:47 PM 2-4 years to get 30k miles. We do that in 1 year. About every 2 months (I never seem to get the time) we change the oil. I change the plugs once a year (unless I'm bored and do it earlier). I change the plug wires when I change the plugs and change the belt at the same time. I haven't had to change the tranny fluid yet since we replaced the tranny 30k miles after we bought the truck and only have 25k or so miles on the new tranny. I will problably change the tranny fluid soon (I change it on the van about every 40k miles - every 2 years). It really depends on how hard you are on your vehicle. If you only do highway miles you can normally wait longer (unless it is california type freeways). ------------------ Mark mark@legendz.com http://mark.legendz.com (http://www.legendz.com/~mark) Off-Road and Motorcycle Information, Pictures and Movies Click HERE (http://www.4x4central.com/ubb/Forum13/HTML/000028.html) to see our Explorer Specs Turner55 05-08-2000, 12:47 AM where do you take it for service level D? is it some specific shop or can you take it anywhere and tell them you need service level D? will they know what you're talking about? ------------------ '93 explorer sport 4x4 -=DaemoN=- 05-13-2000, 10:12 PM how much does this service normally cost??? ------------------ '92 XLT 4x4 4.0L EFI V6 [NSFR671] |
