Darrman 03-13-2006, 10:10 PM I am shopping around for new speakers for my '92, I have Sony Xplod 5x7's in my '91, not really that happy with them, want some better ones this time around. My question is what is the difference between 2,3 and 4 way speakers? And what is component and full range speakers? I do not want to spend a fortune, I am putting in a thunderform and 600 watt mono amp, and a Sony HU, not a real killer system by any means. Thanks! old mechanic 03-14-2006, 12:29 AM 2 ways have a woofer and a tweeter for highs. 3 Ways add a midrange. 4 Ways add a super tweeter. My grandson has a pair of 6x9 5 way ( the 5th being just another super tweeter added) Pioneer speakers that sound pretty good for a small price of about $140.00?
