D oes any one have any info on the craftsman impact driver? I have the 19.2v cordless tools, and was considering an impact driver. For DIY projects. it only has 900inch lbs of torque, and a 1/4 inch hex drive. That doesnt seem very powerful, if you axe me!

I have the ridgid Impact driver with the 1/4" hex drive. I put adapters on it I got from Harbor freight so I can put sockets on it. I have used it a bit on car stuff and it worked ok. It is easier to get my air impact out of teh garage then go out to my truck and get the impact. For doing pick n pull stuff Im sure it would speed that way up. They also are awsome for driving deck screws. Once you use an impact driver a normal drill will suck to drive deck screws.

If you are looking for a 19.2 volt power house, then look into the Ingersoll Rand IR2530K. It is a rated for 350 ft/lbs of torque! This is the most powerful cordless that I've seen advertised so far. There are other ones on the market with 24, and 28 volt ratings, but are not as powerful. Even their plug in impact guns have some of the highest ratings for the amount of amps that they require. Some other brands have much higher amp ratings, but have a lower torque rating. This means that they are more efficient, and don't require as much power to put out a high amount torque.

I have both the 3/8s and 1/2" drive electric impacts from Snap-On. They are reviewed in the Review Section under Tools. I like my 1/2 a lot and it gets the job done. 350 ft pounds is a lot of torque for the IR, but the Snap-On puts out about 210, and that gets a lot done!

I did a search in the product review section for the Ingersoll Rand cordless impact gun, and only found the Milwaukee, and 2 snap on guns.

I like the reversable battery on the Milwaukee for getting into tight spots.

The IR gun is around $300, or $320 for the 1/2" drive model. Their 3/8" model is a little cheaper.

I saw a couple on EBay. There is an automotive tool store near my house that has them in their catalog. They also have a website: WWW.Eppys.Com. I have a lifetime memembership, so I get a 22% discount (even for sale items). They have 2 stores. One is near me in Brooklyn, and the other one is in NJ on Route 9.
