A wheeling friend of mine decided to end his own life :( I dont think anyone here knew jim. He was a wheeler I met though the pirate board before it became so large. We made numerous trips to hollister hills a few trips to the rubicon and a trip across Fordyce trail as well together. He was a guy that would give you the shirt off his back to get you home. I know this first hand when my truck died on the trail and he wheeled out drove 100 miles to get a part and came back with a new one and wouldnt accept a dime for it. He would do his part to keep the trails clean and was one of the nicest guys you would meet. I spent more then a few nights on his couch at home working on my truck or the day before a wheeling trip. It was at his house where I bobbed teh bed of my old ranger.
I guess he was having family problems at home. Dont know anymore details that that. He leaves behind a wife and two kids. The kids are both out of high school.
A few old pictures of us running tanktrap are in this thread. This is where my avatar pic was taken while running the trail with him.

Jim Elliott
April 6, 1960 — April 25, 2006
Jim Elliott, 46, of Ripon died Tuesday at his home.
Mr. Elliott was a native of Tracy and a lifelong resident of Ripon. He was a pipe fitter and a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 442. He enjoyed four-wheeling and video games.
He is survived by his wife, Lenna Elliott of Ripon; children, Clint Elliott, Dave Elliott and Jamie Nichols, all of Ripon; parents, Larry and Darlene Elliott of Manteca; and sisters, Linda Carey of Manteca and Jeannie Ellis of Ripon.
Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, with a funeral at 1 p.m. Private burial.
Remembrances may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton 95204
I didnt get a chance to make his funeral today due to such short notice. Jim was the kind of guy that wouldnt want something specal done for him. He wasnt the type to draw attention to himself. Just did what had to be done and moved along.
I will be up in the area where he lived after the moab run and am trying to decide if I should stop by his house or not. Sure will be hard if I do.
