Inside FoMoCo sources say that the "new" Triton V8 for the Explorer will be cast in alluminum. This will serve to lessen engine weight, improve economy, and expedite cooling. Just a little tidbit I thought I'd post.

Wow it's about time they put the Triton in the Explorer line-up. One downside though. News is that the Triton engines are problematic. People who owns Expeditions in my area complain about the durability of their 5.4L Triton engines

The Explorer actually gets the 4.6. The 5.4 would never fit.

Well, with a big enough shoe horn...
Naaa!

At least with the 4.6, a lot of those performance goodies the Mustang guys play with would fit!
