Hi, I have a problem with my a/c intermitently not working. When it works it works great but then the compressor will shut off but the blower still works. I have tried to bypass both pressure switches but that did not help. Sometimes as I am driving if I turn off the main switch off for 10 seconds or so and then turn it back on it will work again. Somedays it works great without a problem, other days it might do it 3 or 4 times in a 30 minute period and then stay on for the rest of my drive. Any ideas or diagrams as to what controls the clutch would be great. I think it is tied to the computer but not sure, the MIL light is not on and the last time I checked for codes there was none.

Don't bypass the those cut off switches. You are probably low on freon. Bypassing the cut offs, and running the system will eventually ruin the compressor. The only time you could bypass a cut off is when you recharge your system with freon.

I only bypassed them to see if it was low on freon or if the switch was bad. It blows cold when it is working but I have not put gauges on it yet. Does anyone have a chart for the pressures / temps that it operates at? I believe it is an electrical problem and am looking for a wiring diagram of the a/c circuit to trouble shoot with.

AutoZone has wiring diagrams on their website. You could also download a Ford CD from WWW.FordCDs.Com.
