I just bought a brand system for my explorer.
Pioneer AVIC-N3
Two Audiobahn AW1206T Subs 1100w RMS
Audiobahn 2400w RMS
Audiobahn 600w RMS
Four Audiobahn 6x8 Componet Speakers 160w RMS
Pyle 6 Farad Capacitor
1/0 gauge runing to cap and ground
4 gauge to amps

I have power problems when I turn up the bass the lights dimm really bad I thought that the cap would fix that. I have no idea how many amps the alternator puts out but at one point with the bass up I hit 91 amps at the cap with the engine running and it didn't quit so I am assumming that it is not the 95amp alternator. I was thinking about another battery in the back or a 50 farad cap. I not sure what to do but the system has so much pontential and I want to be able to turn up the bass. So I was just wondering what everyone thinks to be the best way to fix this problem.

Thanks

factory wiring from battery to ground
factory charging system wiring
factory 95 amp alternator is not going to be able to keep up with the system you installed.

dual batteries are a good idea too

Well you have to get power from somewhere right? And still have power to run the vehicle.. I dont know who told you the capacitor is the cure to all mans problems but you need to slap him! If you have the 95amp alt, you could upgrade to the 130amp, or go custom w/ a 150-250amp model.

I have the 130 amp alternater. Do you think if i put an extra battery that would help or will the alternater help more. I think i am going to try and put the second battery in first what type of battery do you think will be best for this situation. And then if worst somes to worst and the battery don't help i will upgrade the alternator. Do you think this is a good idea or alternater first the extra battery. I am just floating around ideas so i can get some more experianced peoples ideas. Or give some examples of what someone did to solve this problem.

Thanks Again

A 2nd battery looks good on paper, until you try to figure out where to put it... thats not 400 feet from the alternator

You still have not mentioned upgradig the stock charging system power wires.
the alternator feed to the battery and power box are not designed for this kind of load.
The battery to chasis ground are the same way
If you are pumping more power through the system the wires that takes the power there must also be upgraded, terminals and size.
