I want to get a CB before the Colorado Run and I am looking to get a 3' Firefly antenna. At the Firefly website, they sell an adapter to use the CB antenna for both CB and AM/FM.(#AR-1A). Has anyone used one of these? Does it eliminate any possibility of damaging the stereo by using the CB?

If it checks out, I'm hoping to replace the stock radio antenna with the Firefly. Are there any special mounting considerations to mounting a CB antenna in the factory location? Is the factory antenna mount a 3/8-24 base or would I need to get some kind of toggle mounting setup?
As I have read, the top of the vehicle is the best location by my carport would tend to disagree...
Any help would be appreciated...

Still hoping for info on stock antenna mounting and on the converter box for using a CB antenna for both CB and AM/FM.
I know a radio antenna should not be used for CB.
Any help???
