you know that switch on the faucet in the shower you pull to switch it from the tub fill to the shower?
It is bad or harmful to always leave it in the shower position ?

I would leave it down after the shower is finished to drain it out. Standing water in there might eventually cause the diverter spout to go bad, and not work properly.

I push mine down to try and drain the water out. I despise that cold blast of water that shoots out when you first pull it up.

But, that means I also get the water temp set before I switch to shower mode.

Indeed, the corrosion issue is the only possible problem it could create.

FWIW, my three year old Delta tub faucet automatically clicks open when you shut the water off, allowing it to drain. I guess I just assumed that they all did that....

Haha yah that really sucks. I always drain it, but sometimes the roommate leaves it engaged and gives me quite the surprise of cold water!!
