View Full Version : Pro Comp, which ones??
Blackdog 03-30-2007, 02:46 PM I'm gonna take advantage of the "buy 3 get one free" Pro Comp tire sale. Help me decide on which ones to get, X Terrains, Mud Terrains or Xtream Mud Terrain. I wheel my 97 Ranger 4X4 in mostly high desert sage country but I do see some mud and snow. Size will be 33X12.5 on 10X15 wheels.
I normally use Wrangler MTR's but this sale will save me some chink. Thanks
Dan Whitaker 03-30-2007, 03:20 PM I would say mud Terrains. I hear the X-Terrains suck.
Make sure you use the link Rick posted here in the Tires & Wheel forum so the site makes a little money as well.

I second that... X-Terrains look cool but Muds are way better...

I went to a chinese restaurant once and ordered chicken, when it came it wasn't cooked very well, so I called the waiter over and said, "excuse me, this chicken's rubbery"
He said," ah fankoo, next time you eat here for fwee"

Nice, I was looking at the procomp deal but ended up with MTR's too. Great tires.

Petersen's 4Wheel and Off-Road rated the Xtreme Mud Terrain pretty highly (within the past couple of issues). It is a new tread design that looks similar to the Cooper STT (or is it the SST:scratch:). This is the tire that I really wanted when I got tires, but they had not come out yet. It is also a true 3 ply sidewall where as the regular MTs and some of the XTs are 2 ply sidewalls. The Xtreme Mud would be my vote.
Dan Whitaker 04-10-2007, 04:26 PM Have you seen the cost of the Xtreme Mud tires. Goodyear MTR's are cheaper than the Pro-Comp:eek:
Blackdog 04-10-2007, 05:38 PM My new MTR's. 33x12.5 with no lift. Hopfully I'll get it lifted soon, I'm in no hurry as my engine is apart.
