Another thread is discussing about HU's and I thought I'm not going to hijack that one to ask your opinions about the software you use...so here's a separate thread.
I'm always a firm believer that garbage in = garbage out.
I used to do a lot of home audio stuff..plain stereo..nothing fancy like a 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 surround system. Every corner of the room, every components has been tweak to achieve musical heaven. I started from a "beginner's system" then slowly upgrade to a higher level and before you know it, you've spent tons of money and still never satisfied..it hits you like a virus! With all the system I played with, I've learned that you can not just pop any CD into it and expect it to play beautifully. It is important to have a good quality CD whatever your system is. With that, I always look for labels such as Chesky,Telarc, Blue Note, Decca to list a few. Then comes the XCRD which are a bit expensive but produces top notch SQ. SACD is one of the dissapoinments.
