I have a 2wd Regular Cab 2.3L, 5spd manual that gets a hair over 30mpg on the highway. Doesn't seem to matter if it is empty or loaded with camping gear and hauling a passenger. Does this sound normal or should it do better?

View Full Version : 30mpg about normal? dla 06-01-2007, 06:03 PM I have a 2wd Regular Cab 2.3L, 5spd manual that gets a hair over 30mpg on the highway. A 2.3L is way underpowered for a Ranger. ezeedee 06-01-2007, 06:44 PM a friend of mine has a 98 single cab step side 2.3 5 speed 2wd and he gets i think like low-mid 20's. he drives like a grandma too, but its lowered on 20's. schmidlkofer 06-01-2007, 06:59 PM shoot that is really good. That's why I plan to pick one up soon;) dla 06-02-2007, 02:54 AM I'd say that's about normal. I think EPA says 29 highway. That's why I plan to pick one up soon;) I know that that EPA rating is 29, but I was wondering if other folks were doing more like 32-34mpg. Sorry to hear that others are having such bad mileage. ricere 06-03-2007, 04:42 PM I have a 3.0 V6 and manual trans. I'm extremely lucky to get 24, and that's on a perfect day. |
