hey to all that were in Truckhaven 2000, Colorado Colors run 2000, Tuttle Creek 2000, Moab 2000, etc. and had to put up with my crappy CB that only worked about half the time, I finally got a new one! A Cobra handheld CB... hopefully it will work out better, I trail tested it recently and it seems to work marvelously, much better then my used Radio Shack POS. So now I have no excuse to not hear you... though seriously, if you yammer on and on and on like some of the people did in Moab 2000 about "put it in low range here" and "be careful over that rock" Im just gonna turn down the volume so low I can't hear it :).

Matt, you'll be happy to know someone disconnected my mike the last day in Moab :D

LOL it wasn't me but it's NOT a bad idea :). I wasn't there the last day... the last TWO days actually... had to go home with a broken locker.

Plus, all you yahoos [name removed to protect the guilty] who couldn't even stay on the trail and decided to bail off sideways to get winched/strapped out on EASY parts of the trail.... plus [name removed to protect the guilty] who decided trailboss Steelbender and lasted all of three minutes before requiring several of us to stand on his left side to keep him from tipping over while we strapped him out... also on a MINOR section of the trail... and also don't forget: Lord bless [name removed to protect the guilty] but I still cannot figure out how he completely rolled his (non-Explorer) where he did.....

I have figured out that attempting to provide help to future unfortunates -- resolutely determined to auger themselves in to the landscape -- makes absolutely no difference. I'm just gonna sit back this trip and watch the fun :p

hey I only had to get strapped back on the trail once on Kane Creek and that's because the damn trail gave way under my tires! :). And yes, if I ever roll it, I'll have a fair amount to pay to get it back to the way it is now...

Did you ever run it awhile back? What's going down that hill like????

well the last time I went up there it was still covered by snow... then I've been trying to get up there ever since, but Im not going without at least two other vehicles and my one wheeling buddy had his vehicle break down, and no one with Explorers wants to go... want to make that a Monday run Gerald? :) I've ridden down there before as a passenger... it's pretty sweet, pretty intense... gets the heart pounding thats for sure.

You may talk me into it. I'm too busy right now -- checking in here every hour or so -- but if I could work it in to the ride back to Texas I may be game. I've still got a vehicle without a overly high center of gravity, and there's some trails that's better on. I figure Red Cone must be one of them. No "Tippy" wanted there, right? :D

I'll check the maps, but wouldn't it be out of my way a bit?

im quite certain it probably would be out of your way, but if you want to go where no other explorers are willing to go... your welcome to. I think a stock explorer with a driver with some testicles (not making a joke about previous post, just saying...) should handle it no problem, as long as your brakes are good.

Regarding Kane Creek,I seem to remember telling you: "Swing out left, more left" before you started cutting back to the right. :D
But then, my reaction was predictible since I was sitting in the right seat, looking down into the 'abyss' (deep ditch, creek bed) on the right.
