Needed to mount Alpine mono block, four channel, and infinity kappa speakers, and kappa perfeect sub, and a capacitor
in my 91 explorer but didnt want to have it showing cause i dont want it to get jacked.
The sub was out of the question, for me atleast, to hide. But the amps and capacitor were a different story. For future reference, anyone with a first gen explorer with the premium audio system, if you rip the sub enclosure and all that crap out the back corner there is quite a bit of space.

This is the hole left after yanking all that out:

Mounted the Cap on the reverse of the board i made:

Im gonna get a black/slightly see through piece of plastic for the hole and im mounting up a computer fan in it to get some air circulation back there. Post pics of that soon.
Sorry to bore, felt like showin off a bit :)

Nice work. Thanks for the pictures. I see you said you are adding a fan, but have you had any overheating problems so far?

I'd rethink that grounding point- there doesn't look to be much metal there.

That ground was used for a previous amp and it is a good connection so im not worried about that. And it hasnt overheated, but id prefer not to tempt fate ;)

It may be a good connection- There is just not enough metal there to flow the current those amps will require. No point in running that size wire if you are going to choke it down at the ground point.
