They are easy to install and dont take much time. Look real nice as well. Just think of the logo glowing and you will have the basic idea of a Lumi

Hey all,
Does anyone know the name and address of the company that produces the Lumi Logo? I posted this question on another lumi logo thread, but it didn,t show up anywhere that I could see so I am posting it again.

Thanks for your responses,
Alan

I bought my logo's from "customvan.com". Two days before the warranty ran out, I noticed that one of them was not working. I called the company and told them about it. They said, send it and a copy of the invoice back to them and they would replace it. With two days left on the warranty, THAT'SERVICE!!!!!!!

Shorty,
did you install yours in the location of the original oval on the hood, or did you mount it on the grill? If you mounted it on the hood, where did you run the wires? I mounted mine on the grill, but it looks dumb with two ford emblems in the daytime.
Thanks

Is the install easy or hard? Let me know, I'm interested. JC Whitney also sells these Lumi Logo things. Hope this helps.

I put them where the original emblems where mounted, front and back. You have to drill a hole for the wire on the rear one. Then connected the wires to the head lights switch. It's not as hard as you would think. The hard one is the rear door, you have to take the door apart. But that didn't take to long.
Day time you can't tell the differance, if you don't know.

Okay, I was being dumb, I didn't wan't to mess with the original ford emblem on the Chrome part of the grill because, to be honest, I'm lazy, and I didn't want to scratch up the chrome if I messed up. So I have 2 now, I took a long piece of of metal I had laying around my garage, and ducktaped it to the midlle of the original grill in at the back. (I suck at explaining things) So the lumilogo looks like its inside the grill a little bit. It looks sweet from far away, but up close it looks funny with 2 emblems. I hope the ducktape holds on the freeway...Hmmm.

Go ahead and take the "PLUNGE", just take your time! They look REALLY, REALLY GOOD! I have people ask me about them all the time (at night) I have a remote starter, so I can take the key out and leave it running when I go in to a convenience store, and to have it up to temperature when I drive off in the morning.
The front is easy. Just remove the black cover on the top of the grill. Then remove the emblem. Drill a small hole, then a little bigger hole, than a little bigger hole, until you get up to a 1/2" hole. This way you won't crack the plastic grill.
The rear is a little harder. But it's worth it! Take the off the liftgate handle, remove the lock knob bezel (the thing around the lock button) pry it up with a butter knife and remove the screw under it. Remove the "push in nuts" around the top, turn them as you pull them out and they come out easier. Now pull top of the liftgate trim panel out about 1" and slide the whole panel up about 1" or so and it's off. Take the old emblem off. On the outside of the door in the center of the old emblem on your nice paint job, place a center punch or a 16 penny nail, and give it a nice tap with a hammer. WHEN YOU DO THIS!!! Hold the punch with your hand wrapped around it in a fist, so your little finger and part of your palm is laying on the tail gate!!! This way it won't slide across your paint job(if you hit your hand it will heal, your paint job WON'T heal). Do the small hole, little bigger hole, than a little bigger hole, until you get up to a 1/2" hole thing again.
Then put it back together! It's well worth it!!!

Just in case anyone was interested. JCWhitney has lowered the price on the lumi's. The 4.75" is only $28. Mine is on the way.

I seen them on an excursion limo, it looked pretty cool. What size are the emblems? I want to order them now and too lazy to go measure. :)
