Hey!
-Love this site! I just got a -96 4.0 OHV 4door 4wd. Dunno about the trim, they werenīt really called XLT or anything over here. Gonna take some pics in the snow one of these days, maybe someone can tell me what Iīve got =)

I bought the car from a Ford dealer, with a 3 month warranty (if that is the correct term? Point is, anything breaks within 3 mth/5000 km they fix it) and for the slightly insane price of USD 25.600,- ... That is what you get for living in an extremely high-cost country. Itīs got 113.000 km on the odo, 2 owners, and a complete service record including rust protection (thatīs right, we do salt our roads in the winter... Dammit). It was actually a good deal, if you look at the prices round here. Only thing that bothers me is that they sold me -97 that turned out to be a -96 according to the VIN. Gonna meet the seller tomorrow and demand a partial refund, hoping to get him to deduct $5000+ for that. If he does, Iīll get an LPG-conversion. Propane is tax-free in Norway, so I pay half the price of petrol, and with no change to the MPG (or litres pr 10 km, as we measure it round here) and it will have lower co2 emission values. Good stuff.

Iīve ordered an original dog guard from detroit to separate the cargo area from the passenger area. I think the original cargo hider, or wossname, is complete rubbish. It doesnt stick when you pull it back to the tailgate, and itīs mounted so low that practically nothing will fit under it.

Was thinking of getting some huskyliners, vent visor, a bug shield, tailgate spoiler (windjammer?) and some custom seat covers to hide the aftermarket front seat-heaters. Maybe even eibach 2-3" wheelspacers and a steering stabilizer in time. Any other suggestions for tecnical or cosmetic doīs or dontīs?

I really appreciate your forum and all the info, great work people.

Cheers,
TrondOscar

Welcome to the forum..that is REALLY expensive...Why is the cost so high?

I would worry about them selling it as a 97 if it were a 96. I would watch close to make sure nothing else seems wrong.

Looking forward to seeing pictures!

Prices in norway do reflect the level of wages, and the quality and availability of public services for everyone. For instance, in Norway you don't pay for tuition, unless your grades are so poor that you are only accepted into lousy private "universities", which generally suck. And you don't pay more than change for medical care, there's even an expense roof - anybody who spends more than a certain amount per year on medical care gets all their expenses covered for the rest of that year.
So, it's not that expensive. But even when you take the higher wages into account, cars are more expensive here than most other places.
