Any opinions or experience between PIAA and APC Super Whites? I'm looking into getting some 9007's for my '98 Sport. A local place selling both say the APC's are brighter. They are also less expensive. How about quality and how long they should last (either ones)?

Unless you upgrade your wiring harnesses, don't go for the APCs. I replaced my old ones with PIAAs because my driver's side wiring harness got fried by the APCs. As for brightness between the two, the PIAAs are brighter and are street legal. Basically you pay for what you get in my opinion, PIAAs cost more and are worth more.

Well one of my superwhites (Wizard) burned out today, so I will be gettin some PIAA superwhites pretty soon. Man those superwhites where cheap, weren't even that bright. Looks funny now with the stock bulbs back in, looks too yellow.

hey daylighter, did you see where someone on f150online.com who had purchased those lights had them fry his wires? They weren't APC but they were the higher wattage ones...

Like I said I have no opinions on APC, I try to not form opinions on products I have not used.

Ok, I just read the thread and replied. I just want some lights that are really bright. I want people to think I have my hi beams on at night, when I really don't. I'm guessin the Piaa's are the way to go. Well Matt, they are pretty bright right? I wonder where I could pick some up without havin to order some off the net? Thanks matt.

Mudder... KC might not like that... combining brands and so forth. But almost all four-wheeling places carry PIAA lights, and most will have hte 9007 superwhites in stock... they are pretty bright, I doubt they are as bright as you are looking for though. Could always try em out and if you don't like me, return em!

Why would you want them so bright that people think your hi beams are on? That sounds annoying. I'm all for brightness and clarity (I have the PIAA 9007 superwhites) but not to the point of annoying/distracting other drivers. The PIAAs dont not appear like hi beams, it just give a different type of light, thats seems to be much clearer.

Well, then I don't know what else to go with, KC doesn't make a headlight yet. But thanks Matt, I'll figure something out.

Sean, I was only kiddin about the hi beams, I'm just sayin that I want some bright head lights. I usally run with six lights on at night (headlights, factory fogs, and auxiliary drivin lights), that's pretty bright. Don't worry, I've got the extra two aimed down, I use these until I get my KC fog lights mounted.

One more question, my superwhites were kinda blue lookin, are the Piaa's just pure white? Cause I never really liked that blue tint.

I have a pair of Eaglite Plasma Xenon superwhites...15.99 a pair off e-bay(9007's). I've been running them for about 3 months now, using them almost everyday for sufficient periods of time. I've had no problems (*ru dawg knocking on wood*). The Xenon's are MUCH brighter AND clearer than OEM. I bought a pair for my father in laws's 2k f150, intalled them at night, put one Xenon in and compared....WOW!!! Big difference. Just my thoughts man!

There is no blue tint to the lights. It looks extremely white.

daylighter,

oh ok, you were scaring me there!

Yes the PIAAs are pure white, I think they should be just what youre looking for. Check your local shops, any good place should have em. Paid $74.95 for mine local NYC. If you cant find em, let me know, there are a ton of online places that carry them that I could point you to.

Hey Mr. Daylighter, if you can be patient, I'm working on hammering out a group discount on some PIAA lights (not only headlight replacements but also fog lamps, driving lights, etc.). While I know you have no interest in the driving lights and the fog lamps, I may be able to get a reduced rate for you on the headlights. It'll be after the SEMA show though, as PIAA is busy as heck getting that all together... look for some cool new stuff!
