I have a 2000 Explorer Eddie Bauer. I am looking to find out if any company make a in dash DVD player w/monitor that is not a flip out. I have looked at models that are the double din size: for example the JVC KW-AVX800. That is the style that I am looking for, but in the size to fit the Explorer. For the reason the Explorer isn't a double din, but also isn't a single din. I wanted to fill the space without having the monitor cover the vents. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will sell you mine if you want it.
It is a pioneer avic z-1. It has a 30gb hard drive and stores all your music on it. You can put in a cd and it burns it to the hard drive. Never put the cd in again. Navigation, touch screen, voice activated. XM ready, Blue tooth. I paid 2000 for it about a year and a half ago. I will let it go for 1000 shipped.

That would be great. When I read about it though. It says it is a double din and double according to a few stereo sites doesn't fit. Did you have to mod or anything in order to get it to fit. I see it in the pics, but want to make sure before I invest.

Just a hair. There is a little trimming with a metal file. However, if you purchase this from me I will also include the double din kit that I currently have in the truck. There is a max of maybe 5 minutes if you are picky of trimming around the din. It says ford is a din and a half and that is what mine is. It really is not a problem installing this.

Well let me know I guess what all I would need to do to get it to fit also any damage or flaws in the player. I have a friend in Chicago that can get the Z-2 for 1100

You need to hook me up with that friend. I want a z2. Also...The head unit is Mint...No flaws. No damage. Immaculate.
I won't even let people touch it. Only I do.

Any double-din unit using a mounting kit. Metra makes the kits, and Pioneer, Kenwood, you name it makes the double-din unit.

A double din will not fit in an explorer(except sport trac) without trimming, even when you buy the 'double din kit', it still involves cutting the dash no matter what.

Also the Avic z2 I found online for around or less than $1100.. not sure what's special about that price..

$850(refurb)-$1300 (New around $1099) (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0013G6O9G/ref=dp_olp_2)

$950(refurb)-$1200 (new) (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com)
$1047 (http://www.electronicexpress.com/product?prod_id=11055)
