Here it is...my first attempt at posting a pic of my Explorer. It's not the best quality because I do not have a digital camera...yet. But when I get one look out! :)

Thanks Felsmann and Matt. Sean, nice website...love those rims! To answer your quetsions, the hood still opens normally...there are some billet grilles that require a hood latch extension and a screwdriver or other long flat object to open the hood. As for the wheels and tires...those are factory Limited rims with 255-70/16 Scorpion A/T's. Even though it does not look like it...it's painted dark blue. I guess that's what I get for taking pics with a cheap throwaway camera LOL. :banghead:

no prob man. im more of a street mod type explorer enthusiast myself. I see we also have the same tires (Pirelli ATs). I went to that page but it seems you can only order from a distributor. Is that what you did?

Was it easy to install the side markers? Been debating it because getting down in there and then running the wire along the inside of the engine bay looks like it's going to take a lot of removals, time and patience, at least for my rig.

Thanks,
Sean

Sean (00XLT) no, it was not hard at all. Have you seen Cameron's website? He has instructions and pictures of his side marker install. I basically followed that, with the exception of covering the area with masking tape first. For two reason...the first being to measure and draw my center lines for drilling and the second is I read somewhere that using the masking tape prevents the paint from splitting when drilling holes. Then with a 1/2" hole saw I let my daughter drill the holes. The rest was pretty simple. I painted the inside of the holes, installed the lights and ran the wires to the turn signal and that was it.

Nice truck, I almost bought one just like it a few weeks ago. 2000 Deep Wedgewood Blue/Charcoal interior 6,000 miles V8 totally loaded for 29K, damn tempting.

Thanks for the compliments guys...I was kinda hesitant about posting that pic because of it not being of the best quality...especially compared to some of those digital camera posted pics. Those are truly awesome! A digital camera is definately going on my Xmas list. Anyway, ExplorerXsport, I ordered that grill from Explorers Express last year. I believe the price at that time was around $170. (give or take a few $$). You can order directly from E&G Classics sales department, I believe their price is around $90. Stephen, that sounded like a damn good deal...why'd you pass it up. I would have loved having a twin.

Keith, Eh I don't know. I wasn't driving the Explorer when I stopped off to look at them, if I had been I probably would have traded. Another reason is because of the upcoming 2002. I dont want to buy a new truck and have it be an old truck in a few months.

hey, it appears you have clear corner, although i'm not 100% sure of that, my monitor is kinda crappy, if you do, I beleive you should consider taking the color out and getting some superwhites up front, lemme see if I can find my picture...

How hard was the e&g grille to install? is it something i could (im not good with my hands) do myself?

thanks

KodeBlu

Sean, the grill was not too hard to install. The grill fits right on top of the factory one without any mods. There are four clips in total. Two at the top corners and two at the bottom corners. They basically just swivel around 180 degrees and lock down under (on the bottom) and over (on the top) of the factory grill housing with hexhead bolts. I think the hardest part was getting my hands down in between the inside of the grill housing and the radiator shell to tighten the bottom bolt on the driver's side. Talk about a nice tight fit. LOL

Hope this helps.
