ok, here's the deal. 98 mountaineer in middle of restoration, truck is awd. Right now I have a set of 15" gen 1 explorer wheels with 275 60 15 bf goodrich radials in the rear.

Here's the specs for the 275 60's

Overall Diameter = 28"
Revs Per Mile = 743

Now I'm trying to find a set of front tires, same size rim, same size diameter but not as wide. The size I'm coming up with is... 235 70 15.

Now the funny thing is the bf goodrich radial, matching front tire is (235 70 15):

Overall Diameter = 27.8
Revs Per Mile = 748

I'm a little worried about the revs per mile being different especially that its awd.

The closest I can find to 743 (who even knows if Tire Rack's specs are accurate) are the:

Kuhmo Solus KR21
Overall Diameter = 28
Revs Per Mile = 744

Dunlop GT Qualifiers
Overall Diameter = 28
Revs Per Mile = 744

Fire Stone Indy 500
Overall Diameter = 28
Revs Per Mile = 744

Yokohama Aegis LS4
Overall Diameter 28
Revs Per Mile 742

Bridgestone Dueler AT D684 11
Overall Diameter = 28
Revs Per Mile = 744

I think you get the idea, although they are all very close none are dead on. Am I making this too big of deal?

Your take????

I went nuts trying to figure it out and just gave up-
But yeah, I would worry about any difference in rotational speed.

How does a 235 75 15 measure up?

And I'll add to that... why? I know with a RWD car that it might be desirable, but what are you trying to gain with this?
