:us:Hello Everyone

I join today after looking for about six month for infomation on how to set the cam and crank timing on my 97 ford explorer sohc engine. I hope that someone out there know how to do this without using the speciel tools that everyone that I talk to saids that I need.

Welcome to this forum! OTC makes special tools for this, although most people only use them on the V8 engines. You have a 4.0L V6. Did you just replace the sensors or are you planning on replacing them?

Welcome To Explorer Forum! I always set the timing by hand/sight, with the help of a manual of course.
