I want to go ahead and remove those yellow sidemarkers and install in red bulds instead of the stock yellow ones. Now, I removed the whole assembely and the two peices are guled together. I want some expert advice before I go ahead and do this job, How would I be able to take it out, and when I do, do I need to do anything else, plus what kind of gule should I use to put it back togehter?

Here's what I did...heat oven to 300 degrees. Turn off. Place headlights in oven, and take out from time to time to check them. I believe I put mine in for about 10 mins. Then, with a knife/screwdriver, carefully peel apart. Many people have had problems doing this, and not many have gotten it to work, but it can be done. Then, just seal it back up by re-heating it, and then run a bead of silicone across the joint. Also, you just need to open up the corner where the reflector is, to slide it out. It's easier that way.

Good luck! Remember, slow and steady is the key!

Also-forgot to add-be careful with the tabs that hold the corners in. They snap easy. My driver's side corner only has one of the 2 tabs holding it on now:D Stays in fine, though.

Can't I use a hair drier instead and do it inch by inch? Would that work also? Sounds hard but I could do it. :D

Actually, I'm betting you could get better results with a hairdryer, being able to focus the heat and all. Plus, easy to heat up a section if it cools.

You will have to remove the inside part from a lip where the plastic comes together, too.

I think the techniques that have been described will work for you. Although I would like to point out that in most, if not all states it is illegal to have red lights on the front of your car. Just something I would look into. Better to do some legwork now than have to pay fines or fix it later.

Check out the "Sticky" thread in the Sport Truck section by Hartman. He has done it and has directions & pics.

Yeah, I used the Hartman meathod way back when. Worked fine, just do it carefully.

Red sidemarkers are illegal unless you have a redlight permit, as they're for Emergency Vehicles only. Just FYI

Alright, using a dremel on them looks a little scary but I can do it. Thanks!
