Hi

I have a little project in mind, in my previews car i had "followme home", thats a delay system that keep my headlights on after i turn off my car so i have light at night after you go out of your car.

I want to do something similar in my eX, but i dont know if this is right, i'll do it with the aftermarket foglights i just put.

This is what i was thinking that might work, but i'm not an expert in the subject and want some opinions about this, hope you understand the diagram:

The idea is to use a second relay so the fogs never gets 24V in case both signal turn on at the same time, i want use the normal close position of the main relay as the power of the aux relay, that way the aux relay will get power only when the fogs are off, that been say the fogs will turn on if the dome light turns on.

Could somebody check this out and tell if i'm right.

Thanks.

you cant get 24v from a 12v battery by connecting 2 pos leads together so don't worry about that.

I have never been able to come across an out of the box 12v timer. I came across what they call a 555 circuit. Its basically a timer that works by charging up a capacitor and letting it slowly dran holding a relay closed. When the capacitor is completely discharged the relay will open and the lights will shut off. 30 seconds is the longest I have been able to get the relay to stay closed.

The only thing I worry about doing it the way you have it drawn running off the dome lights is if you leave a door open the battery will die quickly.

all you need as a 12v capacitor. It will continue to energize the circuit till its charge is depleated.
