Well,
We have decided instead of trading in, to keep Ssmith's 1997 Nissan 200sx se

This car is in great shape, and has been maintained very well, with 109k on the odometer. Not to mention, it is rarely seen on the road-there really aren't that many of them around.
While I was replacing the brakes and hubs-bearings, I noted a torn cv boot on the passenger side. Since then it has developed into a clicking on hard right hand turns. I have 2 new cv axles in the garage-so, it's time to go to work!!

Here are 2 pics-a side shot and the engine bay-

Sheri's desired outcome is:

Budget-3500.00

Lowered about 1" with a nice riding strut-spring system
17" wheels-some kind of dark color in center with a silver rim
seats from an infinity ( g20?)
New headlights and tail lights
Tinted windows
new paint, same color

ENGINE
desired 20hp more -(just an estimate). This thing has a hard time maintaining 70mph with the ac turned on. It does however get an honest 31mpg

I plan on an intake-header/exhaust setup with maybe even a turbo install-just a mild one. This thing has plenty of room right where it needs to go-
Then I need to bling it up a bit-

Your mission
convince Sheri the turbo is needed, and show me some idea for inspiration, because this is beginning as soon as we return from Colorado!!

I know there are some Nissan guys here-speak up now please.

Is that what you wanted?! Amazing what you can do with Paint nowadays.... :D

One place I recommend to look for possible parts available, especially for imports like Nissan and Hondas, is andysautosport.com

You can search by car style, and they list just about anything you'd want and what's available. They are sometimes expensive, and most times you can find it cheaper, but it's good to look through parts.

Here's their site for your vehicle above:

If I ever had a Nissan that this engine could fit into, I wouldn't do anything else until that engine made it into my car.

In my opinion, it's one of the best import engines made..

Alright Sheri. I'll consider the adoption thing if you let Jon put a turbo in the Sentra. :) Plus you want to have him take vids of you doing to burn outs and race each other.

That's a 240 sx rear wheel drive engine-

Well--if it's extra power you are looking for, you know you don't need to touch the engine. First thing, watch "Fast and the Furious", the first one. That will instruct you how to tune the NOS timer so you will run 9's.

For the extra power, all you need is a type R badge, NOS sticker, wheelie bars, and carbon hood. Takes care of everything:D

ooops- I missed this
ths looks pretty good. I think she'll like that as a start--

actually-
not digging the rims at all, but it is an idea--

I think they need to be a larger wheel than stock, in a cast aluminum color-nothing brighter than the car-
don't you think?

hmm,
The color is right, but I think the wheels too heavy looking. They look like an Altima wheel??

thanks-Colin,
please, if you don't mind, I would like to try to find a wheel style and have it stuck on there-

we could play this game all night--

This reminds me of a buddy. He has a 1993 Chevy Blazer, has about a 3-4 inch lift on it with 33x10.50 tires (i think). His Dad gave it to him, except it has the SS badges on the back and inside, almost anywhere it says Blazer is has the SS badge you can buy at Autozone. lol. Hence the nickname "the SS".

I'm thinking about some Cobra badges for mine... lol. 500 hp instantly.

The 200sx has a lot of potential. With some tasteful mods, they can look really nice. This brings me back to the days of my G20.

G20! I've wanted one for a while...

If you're having problems keeping it at 70mph with the A/C on, I'd look at the basic modifications. Exhaust and Intake. More specifically a cold air intake and not a short ram, cold air's help better at higher speeds then short rams..

Actually it is the same engine, but the FWD version.

Here is a front clip from a Bluebird...

Well,
Sheri kinda likes the black wheel look, and wondered if a small black graphic on the side would be tasteful, and help bring the wheels in to the look better-

I was thinking blacked out headlights and tail lights would help a bit also--

I'd love to do the bluebird engine-but this one must stay put till it blows-

I think this can be pulled off, without a side of rice. That is the goal.

Right now it runs so smoothly, that if you wre to leave it running to go get a ack of gum or something you might grind the starter when you get back in.

Which reminds me-it needs a new ignition switch. This one has gotten to where the key must be jiggled to start it. It had a key broken off in it a couple years ago, the locksmith drilled it out and re keyed it for 25.00, but I think that meesed it up in the long run

And, the driver side sun visor is toast.

Other than faded interior cloth, it is a cream puff.

I had a bad bad scare with this car today-
It had a constant recurring belt squeal-
I replaced the idler-and it still acted like it needed adjusting -
I tried tightening it a bit and it squealed the next day-
hmm
I looked closer and saw that the top alternator bracket bolt had broken off in the head-
I pondered for a minute on drilling it out, but thought outside the box,

I found a small scrap bracket with a bolt slot already cut into it.
I cut off a 2" section, welded it to the alernator bracket, and this allowed using the furthest left header stud for an anchor point.
I tightened it all down, and it works well. the broken bolt can stay put.

Nothing yet. I'm working on it.

It's hard to find stuff without rice. Sheri cannot decide on wheels.

I might be able to source sunvisors in the junkyard, if you want me to look.

PM me color if interested...

PM me if you want me to look for other items for it...

Well, we have been trying to find items to spruce this car up , however it is all ricey. I just can't quite get a handle on what to do.

I think the best mod for Sheri's daily driver is ebay item 120443368994

I just need a bit of help convincing her she needs it.
