Hi there. Yes Paul is my real name. :) I guess you wonder what I do around here. Sometimes I wonder too... LOL

I am the moderator for the Under the Hood section. My section seems to pretty much run itself. It is thanks to all of you that it goes so smoothly. There is a ton of good tech information in the Under the Hood forum so please feel free to search for whatever you are looking for. Also if you find a thread that you want to add to don't hesitate. Even if the thread is old there are people who will be interested.

Welcome to all the new people. To the regulars, Thank you for your contributions to the site. Without people like you I'd have nobody to talk to... LOL :D :D :D

I'm Matt Adams, I moderate the Performance Lighting and the For Sale/Trade/Wanted message boards. Most people know me cause of my height, and my lights. Other then that I'm a pretty plain guy, LOL.

There's only a few rules about my forums... and most are for the for sale/trade/wanted forum. If you want to sell something thats new (i.e. you are a re-seller, or you want to sell something that you have personally made) then you must contact Rick or myself first (rick@explorerforum.com or matt@explorerforum.com. We also like to keep items out of there such as computers, old couches, etc. Let's keep it to vehicle related stuff :). If it's a group purchase, it belongs in the group purchase forum which is moderated by Rick, and all group purchases must comply with those rules set forth.
For performance lighting, if it has anything to do with lighting, that's where it belongs. You are welcome to express opinions on certain brands but let's try to keep the brand fighting to a minimum :).

I am pretty much on here all day (as you can tell by my post count), I'm kind of a smartass sometimes, but I know lights pretty good :). Welcome new guys, and feel free to let me know if you have any questions about my forums or the board in general :). matt@explorerforum.com

Hello,

I am Kris Guilbeaux Moderator of the Audio Forum. People know me as the crazy person that converted his 1992 Navajo from a 2wd to a 4x4. I started coming to this website back in 1997 when I bought my Navajo.

Although I dont post much in my forum I READ EVERYTHING THERE!!! There is a lot of people that really know their stuff in my forum.

I have spent lots of time and money on my Navajo. I have rewired things retrofitted many things from the new model Explorers to my Navajo. I do all the work on my Navajo myself includeing the 4x4 conversion. So I am a well rounded moderator.

I'm Stephen Withrow, and due to my interest in and knowledge of the automotive industry I moderate the Ford Industry News forum and the All Other Makes and Models forum.

I live outside Washington, D.C. where I sell commercial printing paper for a living. Since coming to this site I have learned to do talk on the phone and do my job while posting on here. Its a skill all of you will learn too http://members.aol.com/riffman80/wink.gif

Welcome to the site!

Welcome to the site first of all. You'll find all kinds of information here. Don't be afraid to ask questions and also get familar with the search feature.

My name is Rob Robertson. I'm the moderator for the conversion forum. I'm knee deep in a 302 conversion right at the moment. In this forum we'll cover just about any conversion you plan on doing from motors to brakes on your Explorer or Ranger.

I have many hobbies which cross paths with my offroading in my Explorer. I've been drag racing since 78. I also autocross and Roadrace ( Porche Stuff )in my Trans Am. To make sure my schedule is full I also race offshore endurance on my Yamaha Waverunner. If it has a motor I'm interested.

Feel free to drop by and ask questions. If your even thinking about a conversion " Plan ahead"

Thanks

http://www.ihs4ever.com/~cwm/contrib/legionxs/wavey.gif Welcome to all! http://www.ihs4ever.com/~cwm/contrib/legionxs/wavey.gif

I'm Ray Lobato and I'm the moderator of the General Explorations Forum.
In this forum you can ask any question pertaining to the basic model, i.e. "what gear ratios do Explorers come with" or "What oil do you use", or just anything in general.
We have alot of really knowledge people on this board and are more than willing to help you out with whatever questions you have.
I'm pretty handy at helping others on how to post pictures and other options offered on this board, so If you have any questions about any of that, you can ask it here as I will also check out this forum too.

I have a 97XLT that is modified for off road, that was my daily driver for a long time. It is now my project vehicle.
I live in California, and my wife Sandy also enjoys 4wheeling. At the big runs I also trail lead and like to help show you newbie just how good your Explorer does on the trails, so if you live around the Bay Area and want to see what your Explorer can do, send me a Email and maybe we can hook up and do some trails. http://members.aol.com/riffman80/smile.gif

If you want to see a picture of my truck, just click on Ray's truck in my signature.
I can also show you how to create a hyperlink like that too.

oh I forgot! I'm also the assistant editor, so basically, I help out with some of the trail write-up's, and I write up the feature explorer's now, and will in the future handle some of the other "articles" on explorer4x4.com.

GJarrett
12-08-2000, 10:48 AM
:) Welcome! :)

My name is Gerald Jarrett and I moderate the Before and After and the Exploring Everything Under the Sun forums. I live in the Dallas area and usually have to drive a ways to get to good wheelin' spots. I own a '99 Eddie Bauer Explorer that has been modified to accomplish what few people can believe it is capable of. I have taken it far from soccer fields and shopping malls ;).

Edit 2005: (I now live in Greenville SC and with the retirement of mmpc as moderator of the Offroad Planning and Discussion Forums, I have moved over as moderator of those forums and left JasonB as primary moderator of the Everything Under the Sun forum.)

The "Before and After" forum is for posting pictures of your vehicle before and after your modifications so others can see the transformation. To learn how to post pictures on the site you can go to the FAQ button at the top of the screen to learn all about the site and what is allowed and how to do things such as posting pictures using the "[img ]" tag. And as Ray just stated, if you have any trouble any of us will also be happy to help.

The "Exploring Everything Under the Sun" forum is our general B.S. forum to post whatever you want to that doesn't specifically apply to Explorers and Rangers. Politics, jokes, computers, hobbies, etc. Our "Today's Day Brightener" thread is here to share your joke of the day. The infamous "How Do I Get Herculiner Off Of My Hootus" thread is also located here.

If you read the FAQ you will note that flaming and vulgarity is not tolerated on this site. I believe that you will find this to be the friendliest, most respectful board on the internet. Our high standards help keep the quality people that provide the information and knowledge that makes this site what it is. You are free to post anything you wish to on my forum but be aware that the standards I hold to it are a little higher than what you will find is allowed to occur on other sites. We try to show respect for each other and tolerance of others (hard as it is sometimes :D ). A good rule of thumb you may want use before deciding to post something is if you think I will be comfortable letting my eight year old son read it. If not, don't post it. For example, the jokes may get a little racy, but not vulgar. There is a difference.

Once again, welcome to the best site on the internet! :bounce:

Hello,

My name is Brett Grooms. I own several Ford vehicles including a 94 Explorer Sport. I am the moderator of the Modified Explorations and the Tires and Wheels forums.

The Modified Explorations forum is the place to post questions, comments, or other information concerning modifications that can be done to the Ford Explorer. This can include everything from Superchargers to Exhaust to Brakes and everything in between.

The Tires and Wheels forum is the place for information concerning size, fit, opinions, and other information relating to tires and wheels.

Howdy,

My name is Ryan Penner I moderate the Shocks, Suspensions, Lift Kits Forum. Its a forum like its title says. Anything about the Suspension goes. There are other things that go in there once in a while as seen fit but more or less its limited to that area of the Explorer. So any questions about the Shocks you run, the lift kit you want to buy, the springs that are not springy that you have post them here! Also be sure to do a search on anything that you want to know more about. There has been lots and lots of discusions on shocks so if you have some question that someone didn't answer on one of the older threads bring it back to life by posting a reply! :D Also don't feel shy about posting new questions too.

Oh yeah I run around in a 92 Explorer sport that has a few mods on it on the Weekends.

My name is Brian Green. I moderate the EXPLORER SPORT TRUCK forum. This is a great place for you to come and ask questions about converting your explorer into a ground scrapin machine or just want to bring it down a bit for looks or stability. Also due to the wonderful response from our sport truck members we have put together http://www.explorersportruck.com. Let me know if I can help in anyway. Thanks you guys for such a smooth running site.

12-12-2000, 02:40 PM
Hi, I'm Bill Collins, AKA RangerX. I am the moderator of the Ranger forum, as well as the Ranger Registry. Being a moderator does not mean I am an expert, but it does mean I like to talk about my Ranger, your Ranger, and any questions, problems, or modifications. If I can't answer a question, chances are great that someone on the board can. There is a wealth of knowledge here, feel free to tap into it! I also encourage every Ranger owner to list themselves on the Registry.

I guess I'm stuck here now.

My name's Lee and I'm now the mod. of the newest forum started for any polls that may come up. I do however read about 90% of the posts on the board as well as spend a ton of time looking through the other pages on the site. I've tried to help out the new members as much and as often as I can. If you ever have a question about the site, or anything at all, just drop me an email. I'll be more than happy to help. :)

WELCOME

Hi,

Ray Hutchinson here! I just started being moderator for the Ham Radio Site. I've been Exploring and modifying my truck since I bought it in 1993. I'm an Extra class ham, and have been licensed for 6 years, upgrading to Extra Class 2 years ago. I've been involved in communications for over 30 years but wouldn't classify myself as an expert.

Even though the title of the forum is Exploring Ham Radio, we discuss all forms of radio communications, Ham, CB, FRS, GMRS etc., and the applications to Exploring, on and off pavement.

Like Paul Gagnon says, this is my real name, and like Leebo,
I'm now the "New Guy". Hope we have lots of interest and activity.

Hello!

My name is Sarah O'Donnell or better known as alphasylum on the board. I am a new moderator to our new section Mugshots. Here we can put a face to our members names. Theres not really too much to this section besides watching for dead links. I expect it to basically run itself. It seems to be a hit so far. For some strange reason though, Rick is getting the majority of the page views *scratches head* hmmm. :)

I'm in the beginning stages to my modifications, my Ex-Specs link is in my sig. I'm great w/ graphics and html so if anyone ever needs any help please ask.

I guess it's my turn!

Hi everyone, I'm Alec, the moderator of the Need for Speed forum. In case you don't know where that forum is, it's in the new Sport Truck sub-section.

Anyway, I volunteered to moderate that forum 'cause I have a serious speed addiction. I currently own a 96 Sport, which has lots of go-fast goodies including a supercharger and nitrous oxide. It's (only) 2WD, but has a posi in the differential, a 2" lift, and 31" tires. Splat is a fast truck that works, too. Moab has been conquered! (the stock 4x4 trails anyway). Though my truck isn't fast by race-car standards, it does run 14's in the quarter mile: fast for a 4500+ lb SUV that can still run trails.

That's the nutshell for now, visit my new webpage for some pics and maybe some text soon.

EDIT: Now I'm on 33x12.50 tires with 4.30 gears. I'm running 15.8s in the 1/4 fully loaded without nitrous.

My name is Derrick Coates and I've been here since Sept. of 00'. I've been modifing my Explorer since the second day I had it. Rippin the sway-bars off!!! I'm born and raised here in southern Idaho. I work at Longview Fibre making corrugated boxes for a living. When I'm not at work I enjoy my Explorer or my Ranger which is a prerunner. Prerunnin is another hobby I recently got into myself. You'll be seein me across the desert some day soon as Pez-Rock Racing is moving up in the world. Our home base is located in Huntington Beach, CA. Founder: Ryan Lopez & Tommy Jason(TJ) Lopez. Fabricator:Jimmie Van Allen. Me, Driver/Wrench monkey.

I moderate the "WHOOPS FORUM." It fits me pretty well since I've done one of the coolest whoops I've seen.:) Click on "view my gallery."

Enjoy the site and don't be affraid to ask ?s.

Well I guess I should chime in here sooner or later... I've been a moderator for over a year now... I moderate the For Sale Trade and Wanted forum... Its honestly the most fitting forum for me since I'm always wheeling and dealing and love to get a good deal...

Don't post in all caps, flame others for their opinions or try to screw up someones for sale deal by saying "I can get it new for half" out in public than I'm the nicest guy in the world... Okay, maybe just in my house, or is it in my head... Either way... Thats what I do...

Howdy.. Guess I'm the newest moderator on the forum as of today at least, so here's a bit about me. My name is Jason Boyette and I help Gerald with the "Exploring Everything Under the Sun" forum. If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask away. I'm pretty fast at answering PMs and email (which could mean I'm on here too much  ).

Other than the obvious interest in the Explorer and wheelin', I'm an avid mountain biker, hiker, outdoor guru, and fitness nut. My wife refers to my truck as the "redneck-mobile." I've been told the stereotype is strengthened by the two American Pit Bull Terriers that often occupy the cargo area. Oh well....

I'm a very laid back guy in person despite the way I have been seen to moderate EUTS. I view the site as a friendly site with the main focus being the Ford Explorer. I appreciate it when people act civilized and respect the older and younger people who may be viewing the forum. Yes, some very young kids see the stuff here. If anyone ever has issues or questions about something, please let me know.

Hope you all enjoy the site as much as I do!

Howard

Firstly Hi and Welcome to all. My name is Howard for real and I now look after the computer forum.

Most of you have seen my posts and my x but I thought that I would give you some of my background so that you can understand me more.

As a child I travelled round the whole world (my father was a civil engineer and we were always going from one site to another). Born in London and have lived here fully for the last 30 years. I have done Disney in FL and enjoyed it immensely.

I'm now 45 years old and have had a number of jobs since leaving school. My first job was working on an oil rig, under construction in Scotland, as a surveyor. Then I went to work for the Automobile Association (car breakdown service). After some time I was involved with the early days of cellular phones, installing, testing and repairing them. I then moved over to IT as a support engineer working my way up to network manager by the time I left. Now I run my own computer company.

I've been driving since I was 17 years old and have always repaired my own vehicles including engine swaps, gearbox and clutch, some body work (not welding because I can't) and of course vehicle electrics.

Out of interest the computer network that I managed was in a college with over 1,000 computers and some 20 servers, mostly running Novell Netware, spread over multiple sites. As you can imagine the students all wanted to crack the system, but none were ever able to, and the staff wanted everything instantly.

So you can see that I've worked in the service industry for quite some time and I never learnt to say 'have a nice day' only 'all the best'.

Hi, my name is Jeff Harris I'm 42, born and raised in Texas, relocated, and have been a member for 2 years.

I'm a custom car builder and fabricator working for www.specialvehicleoperations.com which is a personal company I own.
My blood has had Ford blue running through it since I was able to reach the throttle, I have done Turbo 4 cyclinder Mustangs (N/A turbo, Turbo GT's and SVO's) since the 70's and well into the 90's but now I have left the asphult and pursued the dirt.

I have a 1992 Mazda Navajo that is locked, converted, trimed, and driven like it was built, click on "My Junk" in my sig for more info.

Seeing as though the members.moderators/admin of this site also think that I have too many toys, they put me as the moderator of the R/C & Models Forums, this has also been a favorite pastime and now a craft I'm passing on.

If there is anything I can do to help you out please drop me a line and ask away, I have many talents and skills, hope I can help you out!

Happy Explorering!

Well, looks like I've avoided one of my moderator duties. I've been around the boards for a couple of years and a mod for almost a year now. I co-moderate the FSTW with Heath. We make a pretty good team though we usually compete for who's meaner. :hammer: There were three thoughts that came to mind when asked to moderatoe the FSTW forum. #1 Few could actually put up with Heath (:D J/K bro), #2 I'm acutally mean enough co-moderate with Heath, #3 I buy and sell so much, or #4 I'm not smart enough to figure out that this job is actually painful (read this is why all other moderators are drunk).
This is me:
Kent Hill
Born and raised on the Oregon coast.
Stationed in Idaho, been in the Air Force for over 10 years and around the world a number of times.
'91 Exploder - locked, loaded, solid axle, and fiberglassed everything panel possible.
I've had a number of Explorers and other Ford models along with others I won't mention in this croud. :p
I fab on the side (soon to own www.4xfab.com) and have built a wide variety of rigs for others along with several SAS's.

Hi all..

I'm Chris Swanberg, and I am the co-moderator of the transmissions and transfer case forum. I'm in my mid 50's and have been tinkering with cars all my life, even briefly worked at a FORD dealership in my college days. I live in Sacramento California.

Please come say hi in the forum, if you want to know more about transmissions and transfer cases, you'll find a lot of good info there!

Hey to everyone and welcome to the new members. I am Drew Palmer and I am the co-moderator for Underhood and Drivetrain and it's subforums (Computers-Chips-Tunes, and EEC-IV and EEC-V). If you have a question about computers, codes and chips I can get you going in the right direction or answer your question. Hope to see you post a lot. I have been messing around with cars for a long time, and will get my associates degree in Automotive Technology soon (spring '07). I hope to go into possibly business to get out of the shop and into another great aspect of the automotive world. I will be taking some of my ASE Certification test soon (when I feel comfortable enough) and will hopefully be a master tech by 2010. That's a little bit about me.

I am John DeRocha, co-moderator of the Whoops Forum (http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27) and VP of NEX (New England Explorers) (http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=88). My 1st Gen Explorer has been my DD since I bought it new off the lot in '93. It has been one of the most reliable and enjoyable vehicles I have ever owned. It brings a smile to my face every time I hop into the driver's seat. I do most of my own repairs and enjoy working on all types of automotive projects; so its no surprise to find a vehicle or two being worked on at my place. I try to get out and wheel a few times a month, often with my wife and kids on board. The family the wheels together, stays together ;)

My moderating style is "Moderate, but don't over moderate".

Well, I guess I should add to this too...better late than never...

I'm Jeff Draper and I live in McVeytown, PA. I've been on the board for about 6 years and am on my 3rd Explorer since I joined ('92 Sport-member of Rollover Posse, '01 XLS, and now a Lifted '94 Sport). I'm co-moderator of the 911 Forum, moderator of the Home Improvement forum, and general thorn-in-the-side for everyone else. :D

I'm currently a Sr. Development Engineer/Global Aerospace Applications Manger for GE Inspection Technologies in Lewistown, PA. I have a wife Sue and daughter Rachel.

Not sure how I missed this.

I'm Adam. I'm originally from Wilkes-Barre, PA, and now hail from the 'burbs of Philadelphia, PA. I've been on the board for about eight years, and the Sport Trac is my second Explorer, the first being a 1996 XLT. I've finally gotten around to jacking it up a bit, though when compared to others' rides, it's still stock (31's, etc.). I moderate the detailing forum which, if I continue preparing this for off-roading, will be a little ironic as the Trac will have more scratches than a person who tried to give a cat a bath.

I'm currently a third year law student and likely will be working in downtown Philadelphia when I finish. I have no wife and no children, but I do have a girlfriend of six years who would be pretty disappointed if she didn't become my wife. Only time will tell. :)

Hello I'm Shamaal, the junior moderator in the Everything Under The Sun (EUTS) forum. The shamaals are the northerly winds that blow out of Iraq and into the Arabian peninsula.

I'm also a co-moderator in Rick's Driving Me Insane (DMI) forum. http://www.drivingmeinsane.com/forums
An edgier cousin of the EUTS sub-forum.

I own a 1991 Mazda Navajo, so I guess technically I'm not a real member of the explorerforum; but the others tend to tolerate me. I tried to get Rick to change the name to Navajoforum.com but no dice.

I originally hail from Wisconsin, but currently live in the town of Friendswood, Texas named after the Quakers who originally built the town in 1895. It's a pleasant place but I'm getting tired of eating all those darn Oats.

Hey everyone. My name is Mike Boyle. I'm going to be co-moderating the Events and Offroad Runs (http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=79) Forum.

I'm an ASE Master Tech and love about anything to do with automobiles. I'm on my second hand me down Explorer (bought both from my parents when they decided to replace them) and can say they have been the best vehicles I've ever owned.

Looking forward to helping anywhere I can.

Hello to all. My name is Kevin McInchak and I am the new moderator of the Under the Hood forum.

I've been in the Navy for 19 years now and a member of this board since the beginning. I have learned a lot from this board and just want to thank Rick for letting me give back a little bit to the site of which I have prospered so much from.

Enjoy and I hope to help wherever I can.
