Thanks for the link Paul.
I'll be starting a disc brake conversion using my existing rear end in a few weeks. I purchased Rick's Kit. This will be a good comparason between the two.
After upgrading to 35" tires I definately needed better brakes. It takes a little longer to slow down now. Nothing scarier than 35's bouncing on the highway.

Paul,
Did you add an adjustable proportioning valve to the rear brakes?
I'm about to install a '98 rear end into my Ranger, and the last thing to do is figure out where to plumb in the adjustable value. Also, I need to determine if I should bypass the factory proportioning valve.

The only changes that I made to the hydraulic braking system was to retrofit the hard brake lines on the rearend. I did not adjust, change or bypass the factory proportioning valve. You may need to fine tune your brakes once the conversion is complete but I have had no problems with this setup.
I LOVE my new Explorer brakes :D I finally have an e-brake that works.
