I have a 1994 2 dr explorer with the premium sound installed(im sure of it because it says it on the back of the stock speakers. And i am installing a sub and amp but i dont want to have to take off the whole side panel, so can i just install the amp and sub as if the premium stuff was never there?
Thanks
Dylan

I'm doing the same thing right now to my 94. Does your current stock amp work with your speakers and all? If so then yes just install it as if there wasn't a stock amp. Just run the power and rca cables and so on.
If you don't want to run another "amp turn on" wire you can just tap into the stock amps turn on wire which happens to be blue. But if your going to be running rca cable you can just run a seperate amp turn on wire.

Sweet, someone else whos working on a 94'
I think were going to actually take the side panel off and everything so that i can get more watts from my new amp to the speakers. Nevermind i just relized that i have a 1 channel amp and to my knowlege you can only hook one component that being the sub, right?
i think for now ill just run it passed the sub and when i get new speakers and a amp then ill do all the work with the old amp
