What is it, 3.8L per US gallon?
(yea metric really is better.... yea the US still hates it. heh)

I observed 2.73 US for a gallon a little while ago... FYI.
It peaked around 4.00 before it started falling.

The upsetting thing is, last time oil was US $71 a barrel gas was more like
$0.75 a litre or less. So much for gas being tied directly to crude costs EH?

(jokes with the EH...I had to. )

Nedwreck

Gas here is around $3.20 a gallon. Maybe some places might be a little less, but it's still over $3 a gallon so far.

OPEC is meeting today to discuss cutting oil production so they can drive up oil prices again...what a racket, Eh? (sorry, just had to:D)

10-20-2008, 05:44 PM
The reason it's less now is that we all cut back because it was so high and it was hurting their profits. By lowering the prices they hope we'll all go back to our pre-$3 driving habits so they can inch it back up again. Today within about 2 miles I saw regular for $2.99, $3.21, $3.27, $3.59 and $3.69, all name brand stations. I see no legitimate reason for a difference of $0.70 cents between two shell stations a few blocks away.

Those wild and crazy OPEC guys!!! Guess they don't quite get it. We will keep driving less and cutting into their profits. It's all blatant greed and they should just learn to be happy with their billions in quarterly profits.

EH!!;)

Yay gas is cheap, but we lost money on our 401...yay... enough to buy gas for like 2 years.

Once the US really gets the fuel miser bug they will have to settle for billions instead of billions and billions and billions. Poor guys how will they survive.

How much is that in US dollars?

mechjames
11-05-2008, 06:21 PM
1 US gallon is 3.79 litres, so 0.99 cents * 3.79 = is $3.75 CDN, so with todays exchange rate of 0.85556 it is $3.20US per gallon.

I thought the Canadian dollar wasn't that much off of the US dollar? It looks like you're paying about $0.75-$1.00 more per gallon than the US.

The closer we got to your election day the better the US dollar has been doing. It's about .86 cents CDN for a US dollar.

And this week I topped up every other day as gas got down to .83 a litre. About $3.15 CDN per US gallon.

I filled up today for 1.84 per gallon USD. Wish I had a 500 gallon tank I could fill and save for when it goes back up to $4

Gas is finally under $3.40 where I am...it's been way too long and I hope this back to normalcy isn't fickle. One of the things holding me back from getting a bigger car is gas, and fuel efficiency. It may take me a while to wait for the fuel-efficient model, or to minimize the extra gas expense in some way.

Just paid $1.83 at the Indian rez between Buffalo and Rochester. It's like $2.29 anywhere else.

Wohoo! Today it was at $1.69...and with my Von's Club membership I get three cents off of that! Incredible.

Is anyone stocking up on gas? Or even just filling up a gallon just because it's so (relatively) cheap?
