This is the ONLY mod I do to my explorer... I mod it and un-mod it as many times as summer allows. :-)

Maybe a little more power would help? Aw, what the heck! Time for a supercharger!... maybe 2? and how about a wing for the back? (I meant for the boat, not the truck!)

Looks to me like you should "add-a-leaf" or put some load leveling air bags in the rear cause that thing is dragging!

Actually it only drops the rear by about 3 inches. It's only a 300 lb tongue weight. The way it's sittin' there, there's a slight incline from both sides that meets in a valley right even with the groove in the cement just in front of the trailer axles... The extra angle makes it look like it's sagging a lot more than it really is. Does make the front end quite light, though... I'd add some bags if I was keeping it, but the Exploder's got one foot out the door already. Long story....

Hmmmm... in your profile it says you have a f-150 lariat, so why is your 6 banger pulling a 5 ton boat?
lol,

Just got the truck at the end of October... boating season was shot by then. Didn't have a chance to pull it. And it's only 4650 lbs... about 2 1/3 tons. :-)

Without being sarcastic at all that is a good answer thanks :)
happy 4wheeling :)

Does you explorer have trouble pulling that beast.

Nick, Sorry for the belated response....
It certainly doesn't like to, but it does pull it. Acceleration, braking, and cornering are about the equivalent of a semi pulling 100 tons, but it gets the job done. The boat actually started dragging all 4 wheels once when the ramp was covered in mud (That gritty, sandy kind) when they were renovating the parking lot at the county ramp 2 years ago. Other than that, it's never had any trouble at the ramps. Pulls it right up without even slipping the rear wheels. I tried putting it in 4 lo, and it just took a touch of gas to get it to roll... that SOHC has more low end than it lets on. On level ground, I've punched it... it makes a lot of noise, but doesn't seem to go anywhere. :-)
