1997 Ranger 4.0.
Replaced lower intake gasket and now anytime I turn my fan on (inside truck) no matter where the temp controls are the A/C comes on and the heater doesn't. What 1 has to do with the other is baffling me, but any ideas, thoughts, magic?

Thanks, Brian

P.S. Everytime I touch one thing on this truck something TOTALLY unrelated happens.

Check the vacuum lines.

Isn't there just the one Vacuum line going to the heater hoses? There is a valve attached to the two heater hoses with a Vac hose connected.

in saying your AC comes on do you mean the compessor is actually always on? or is your system just not blowing heat?

Also when changing your air flow control does it work correctly (defrost on windshield, floor on floor, vent on vent etc..)?

No matter where the controls are (except for OFF) the A/C compressor comes on (verified). If there is heat I can't tell over the cold.
