Will either DirecTV or Dish Network have any functionality issues without a land line phone? We're looking at getting rid of Charter to go to a satellite service of some sort... The only potential issue I see is that we don't have a traditional land line phone... We have Vonage (VoIP service). Can someone confirm whether or not either system will work without a land line phone? Will either one work with a broadband internet connection instead? I've called both DirecTV and Dish Network twice each, and gotten two different answers each time. Heck, one of the customer service reps had never heard of 'voypee' phones before... :banghead:
Also, on the Dish Network equipment with the two-room setups, do they have to run a second cable back through the house to the second room from the receiver? If not (the CSR insists they don't) how the heck does that work??
The people that sell this stuff should at least have a clue.... Is that too much to ask?!!?
I really need to find an installer on a job in the area and ask him...
