The clears all the way around are cool. Nice rims, and the 36's are huge. How much lift do you have? I noticed the MTX sticker. What type of audio system do you have in there? Again, nice ride. Steve 95ExplorerLtd 12-21-2000, 09:55 PM Originally posted by mrsteve I noticed the MTX sticker. What type of audio system do you have in there? Prolly MTX I'd say :D Lol, j/k studdedx, great ride! Is that a 6 inch lift or more? Sorta hard to tell. Those clears on that blue are awesome too! [Edited by 95ExplorerLtd on 12-21-2000 at 07:00 PM] 95ExplorerLtd 12-21-2000, 09:57 PM Ooops, I think I hit the wrong button here or something so it posted twice..... [Edited by 95ExplorerLtd on 12-21-2000 at 06:59 PM] Derrick C. 12-21-2000, 10:06 PM Thanks guys!! The suspension lift is the 5.5" Superlift and I have a 3" body lift. For the audio department I have 2 rockford 12" subs in a custom bandpass box. MTX amps, diamond audio mids and tweets And the Pioneer Premier P900R with the 3D graphics. -=DaemoN=- 12-21-2000, 10:22 PM Looks nice! what size are those tires 36x??? and the rims. Derrick C. 12-21-2000, 11:01 PM Tires are 36x12.50 super swamper TSL radials on 15x8 rims mrsteve 12-21-2000, 11:25 PM That is a hell of a lot of lift!! How much lift do the tires alone give? Brian1 12-22-2000, 12:32 AM Originally posted by mrsteve How much lift do the tires alone give? From a 29 inch tire which is basically stock the 36's would give about 3.5" of lift I think but not sure (36-29=7, 7/2=3.5 extra inches). Very nice looking truck!! How do the TSL's do in the snow? JYoung 12-22-2000, 07:22 AM What gears are you running with those 36's. Derrick C. 12-22-2000, 10:51 AM Actually I'm runnin the stock gears which are 3.27 but only for another week or so then I'm going with 4.56 gears <<MONOCHROMOUS>> 12-22-2000, 06:48 PM do you have any idea how hard it is to get drool out of a keyboard? very hard. nice ride man, looks really intimidating!! TheMattDaddy 12-22-2000, 10:22 PM wow. I'd say more, but I'm still awestruck. TheMissin'Link 12-30-2000, 02:37 PM What an awesome truck! It's amazing to see the 36's on there with 8 and a 1/2 inches of lift. The clears look awesome, too. Wow... Derrick C. 01-24-2001, 07:33 PM Well thanks for all the replys on my rig!!! Unfortunetly my truck is now parked at the 4x4 shop for a while. I was out wheelin when this little J*** came up over this hill thinkin he was pretty cool and I wasn't about to be showed up by some J***. So I stuck her in 4-low and began to climb up the hill he came down thanks to the new ARB it was nothing. I got to the top and turned around and gave alittle too much throttle and came down the hill a bit to fast as I hit the bottom you could feel the front give out. Getting out it looked like I blew up the front driveline thankfully I listened to my dad and believed him when he said "you can never have enough spare parts with you." So I got the new driveline out and me and a couple of friends did a quick install. Got back in and drove home before I did some real damage. Driving home the truck didn't feel right up front so when we got home we looked and looked but could not find a thing. Stuck her in 4-low and tried to go and a hole bunch of clank and bang sounds came from up front. So I took her in to the shop to discover the front end chewed to sh*t. So the project began!!! We tore out the front end the next morning and now I am waiting for my rebuilt Dana 44 straight axle. I'm still not sure if I want to go with a spring-over or coils. I will have pics up of the install and my now new 92 Explorer!! RobbieJ 01-25-2001, 12:23 AM Go with leafs Check out http://www.trs.com and look for the danger ranger. It's awesome. Leafs all around. There are good pictures and the guys is eager to give info to help. My brother is in the process of collecting parts to do the same set up. Toms of flex. Robbie TheMissin'Link 01-25-2001, 09:18 PM I just wanted to wish you good luck with your repairs. I guess this just shows us how those stupid J***s can lead to trouble! RobbieJ 01-25-2001, 10:57 PM Ok here is the link to the danger ranger http://trs.rrorc.com/OffroadRangers/DangerRanger.html What do you think? Robbie GJarrett 01-26-2001, 03:58 PM Yep, he posts on the POR board a lot too. He's the guy that first got me to thinking twice about having my Explorer nicknamed "Jeepeater" when he and I exchanged a few messages. He's definately done an extreme job with his Ranger. He used to have an ongoing joke about still paying it off while tearing it to shreds but I think he's finally paid it off. CAC91 02-22-2001, 05:58 PM That's the burliest looking IFS Explorer I've seen. Isn't it a little overkill for the stock components though? Derrick C. 02-23-2001, 01:14 AM Thanks man!!! Actually isn't wasn't to bad. I could still out do a re-geared and rear end locked on a 91 Toyota runnin 38s. The only big problem I had was the clutch. Dual friction Centerforce cured that though. The thing I enjoyed was even runnin 36s I still had gobs of wheel travel. Thanks again!!! CAC91 02-23-2001, 02:50 PM I've been looking into getting the dual friction clutch too. How do you like its engagement? Is it all at once or as smooth as a stock clutch? If you had a hard-to-shift tranny before your new clutch, did it help that at all? I mean like getting into first and reverse and "speed-shifting". Derrick C. 02-24-2001, 01:29 AM The gut that installed it said it would be a "slam its in gear not a smooth engage like the stock." But I didn't notice a "slam", you can feel it but not bad. As for the hard to get in first and reverse, when I had mine installed I put in new slave cylinder, master cylinder, and throw-out bearing(which you get with the clutch), but since then I have had no problem what so ever with that. Is what I personally enjoy is those tough spots on the trail and you really have to burn the clutch. Mine still feels brand new!!! Never even felt like it was getting tired. CAC91 02-27-2001, 09:56 AM Thanks for the reply, I've been wondering about those clutches. |
