00XLT 12-27-2000, 05:10 PM Looks awesome dude. The chrome grill guard really compliments the wheels, plus the clears look so much better than the stock orange lenses. You going to leave it stock height, lower it, raise it a little.. ?
DarkFox1 12-27-2000, 07:48 PM well.. heh, I wanted to give it a lift.. but its 2wd, so theres no reason for that.... maybe later I'll slap on some BFG ATs once the michelins wear out.. or maybe just some michelin LTX ATs
heh, if I still have the car that long.. I'm looking at tailight guards now, but cannot find out how they connect to the back of the car?
95ExplorerLtd 12-27-2000, 09:21 PM Looks awesome! I have beens keptical about Go Rhino guards because of the way they are more "spaced out", meaning all the bars are further apart and stuff, but that really does look nice! You could always do a torsion twist and shackles. It doesnt have to be a huge overpowering gaudy lift, just enough to make a statement without saying too much.
DarkFox1 12-27-2000, 10:37 PM well I dunno.. to sound like a child for a moment.. "my parents don't want me to" is the main reason for no lift, and the fact that my rims are 15x7s.. so to go with that would lead to other costs.. but.. I dunno.. my next steps are the lights.. and I'm getting taillight guards ASAP as long as they do not require drilling, not poking holes in my ride here.. I had thought about some sort of roof rack and some lights on it.. but. thats not really high on my list
soupbone 12-27-2000, 11:08 PM Looks good! So i take it thats a gorhino guard? Oh and the AR wheels look nice too :) Hrmm but where are the PIAA driving lights? Can you put a set of lights on top and bottom of the guard bar? Not the step but the bar........
DarkFox1 12-28-2000, 12:40 AM the piaas are on the way.. should be in friday, I'll have them installed tuesday or so (I'm lazy) but they're not big lights.. they're like 1.5x3".. I wanted something.."sleak" I guess.. I'm seriously thinking about getting something for reverse, I can't see at all when I back up these days
TheMattDaddy 12-28-2000, 02:10 AM Wow, that looks really really good. I think I saw a go-rhino gaurd before, but didn't remember it looking that good! Good job! BTW, get your LEDs in yet?
Goober 12-28-2000, 07:49 AM Ok, so now when I get back to Augusta, I'll know for sure who you are. Kind of hard to miss your truck now.LOL Looks great. Did you order them from 'Trucks and Moore' in Martinez?
DarkFox1 12-28-2000, 12:44 PM hehe, yep, they said they would take a pic, but their digital camera is missing..
ya, its hard to miss now, but theres a red cherokee here thats MAJOR competition.. 35" BFG ATs.. go rhino everywhere.. its a very nice truck, hes sort of my competition in a respectful sort of way :P (he went to my HS too)
no LEDS yet.. according to APC the 3157 LEDs had a defect that caused them to catch on fire. .LOL, glad I didn't get a pair!!
TheMattDaddy 12-28-2000, 04:56 PM LoL.. sorry about the LEDs, but good that you didn't get 'em
KodeBlu 12-28-2000, 05:35 PM DarkFox, that is SWEEEEEEET!! That grill guard really sets off the rest of the chrome on your ride. It really looks good! Makes me want to get one now.
GRNMACHINE 12-29-2000, 10:48 AM Darkfox,
that is the nicest guard i have seen, has the patented step up bar to get to the hood etc. i am not a big fan of chrome, but the guard + wheels look awesome on your truck. i would agree with others though, 2wd or not, a torsion twist and shackle raise would look very tuff on your truck. the 15x7 wheels would be fine, many people run stock wheels which are same size. love that 2-tone paint the mountaineers use also.
<<MONOCHROMOUS>> 01-01-2001, 11:39 AM long time no see DarkFox, the grill looks great! about the lift, im getting a torsion/shackle on thursday, ill put some pics up so you can see. im thinking about getting some blue driving lights myself, just have to find where to put them....
As always, looking good!
DarkFox1 01-01-2001, 01:56 PM thanks man, I should have pics of my lights up soon, I'm going to pull the thing around to the front yard and snap some pics in just a sec here
hey, I just got through with some constructive converstaion protaining to my vehicle.. 1 person called me a ricer for wanting to upgrade my exhaust, told me I was a ricer because I'm trying to make a "6cyl luxury suv fast" which its not a 6cyl to begin with...
my parents are completley against it.. I wanted a flowmaster 50 or 70 series dual in/out muffler and pipes, but they tell me that midas is the only brand worth getting and my stock exhaust cannot be bad on the engine because ford put it there..
this is driving me CRAZY! I'm still getting my facts together, but I have found nothing that points to fords exhaust being good
"don't spend all that money on that thing, if you total it the insurance won't pay"
what to do what to do.. AAAAAAAARGH!!!
all I wanna do is some exhaust and taillight guards and I should be set for a while.. but this is proving difficult, any suggestions would be appreciated.. I need em right about now.
<<MONOCHROMOUS>> 01-01-2001, 02:24 PM go for the flowmaster 50 series, probly $70 for the muffler, do the single in single out muffler, use a Y pipe before the muffler, and use all the stock pipe, if you change any pipe it will run you big $$$ especially dual, that involves removing your spare tire and cutting some stuff under there, no good for me. ill probably run 2 cherry bombs (glasspacks) and keep everything else stock.
if youre a ricer, than im one too! keep in touch, we can work on our mods together!
ilikedellcomputers 01-04-2001, 05:59 PM Wow Darkfox1 that looks kick ass!!!! If you don't mind me asking, how much did that set you back!! Also, just wanted to add that I am back from a nice hibernation period up here in Canada, so you will be hearing more from me and seeing hundreds of new pics, along with the upbringing of my new website (which has yet to be made)!!
Peace Out,

DarkFox1 01-04-2001, 06:31 PM it cost around $700 or so from a local store, but I've seen them elsewhere for $650.. I knew shipping for something like this would be bad.. so.. that wasn't a popular option with me.. the trucks in the shop right now, I'm getting that flowmaster installed ;) already got the lights on the guard (pics on the site) and the taillight guards are comin in tomorrow.. woo!
