Hi guys - my first time, so be gentle! Who likes what chip? I'm in the market for my first one and need your advice! Thanks!

1) JET chips suck. 'Nuff Said
2) Hypertechs are good. I have one. They're around $200 from Autozone. Sometimes it comes a little loose and the computer spazzes out, but that's fixed in 10 minutes. I don't know if other's have that problem.
3) Superchips are initially cheaper, around $160 from smartyparts.com. However, for more $$$, they can custom program the chip for the max benefit of other mods. Many members on the board have good experience with them. I don't know how their customer service is, though. Hypertech's service is excellent.

I'd go with the superchip from http://www.smartyparts.com Tell them you were referred from this site, and you'll get a good deal. Good luck!

I too run the Hyertech chip. Never once have I had the problem with it comming lose. You can feel the change in just about everything right off the back. I don't think it would matter though if you went with superchip.

I too would go with superchip if I would do it again....same thing...less cost.

I am planning on going with the Superchip as well, my main reason is because of the deal we get from http://www.smartyparts.com. This would probably be your best route, and I would have to say that it's probably just as good as any other chip out. Hope this helps buddy, and again, welcome to the site!:)

If you're not yet convinced to go with Superchip then let me tell you that they are great! They are $160 at smartyparts.com. The chip performs marvealously and their service is great! Chris is the sales guy there and he always works hard to make me happy. I have ordered three chips from him already. One of them is on my Explorer and the other two are on my uncles' F150's.

Coincidentally, I called him a few nights ago, before I even joined this awesome forum, to ask about Superchips and he answered his cell phone! He's on vacation and still answering the phone!
