I have a 1995 explorer 4.0L V-6 with 145k miles. Recently, have experienced the blower fan stop while running the A/C. If I mess with the fan switch it will come back on or one time it wouldnt come on until I started the car again later. Is this a worn out fan switch? When the fan stops, it doesnt matter whether the A/C is on or if I'm simply running the fan as a fresh air supply. The selector for the A/C runs off vacuum? Does it affect the operation of the separate fan switch?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the A/C & Heater section. Check the blower motor wiring harness to see if there is power when you turn on these settings. It might be the blower motor or the speed control resistor.
