Rant on...
So back in October, my T-max winch had a solonid go out after winching RJ back over at Truckhaven. Now I can't get the winch cable back in. So I should just order a new solonoid...right?
Wrong! T-max was bought by Westin, right after my winch died, and nobody has parts now! I just talk to Westing, and they said it will be at least another 30 days before they have inventory. I tried ordering another brand Solenoid from summit, but it is missing a termnal that mine has.
So now I have a Worthless winch:(

Maaan you had me scared (I also have the T-max). But arent solenoids just solenoids? If so, you might be able to adapt solenoids from other manufacturers or maybe even just a starter solenoid or a diesel glow plug driver.

Here is a 6 terminal one that may work:

6 TERM 12 Volt HEAVY DUTY SPL6016 SOLENOID (http://www.db-starter-alternator.com/Items/Item.aspx?SKU=spl6016%20/%2015-323%20solenoid%206-term&caSKU=spl6016%20/%2015-323%20solenoid%206-term&caTitle=NEW%20WINCH%20GOLF%20CART%20SOLENOID%206%20TERM%2012%20Volt%20HEAVY%20DUTY%20%20SPL6016)
Replaces Prestolite #15-323 & Dayton #92-20172.
I'm also seeing the stock replacement solenoid from T-max, however, the only places selling it are located in the UK and are wanting ~£23.

take the soleniod out, and in to any good auto parts store. t-max does not make the solenods they use, they buy them like every one else.

Can you post a photo of the solenoid? Have a wiring diagram for the winch?

Newark Electronics www.newarkinone.com has several that are rated for upwards of 75A continuous duty cycle. They're not cheap, but they'll out-last anything they're likely going to sell you for it...
