I was just wondering if any of you know anyplace to park for the 500 for free where I wont get towed.
I do not mind walking a mile or two to get to the track.
Thanks.

No I am not rubbing it in buddy.
I have only been really getting into Nascar for a little over a year now.
But because I live so close to Daytona now, And with my favorite driver (Truex jr.) sitting on the pole, I figure this would be a great first Nascar race for me.
It wasnt in my budget to go this week but I just have to!!!!
So I would really like to find free parking if its out there.
If not, I will suck it up and pay the piper!
Good luck getting the race while at work. And enjoy the fact that you have work!
A lot of us contractors down here in Florida (as well as most of the country) are struggling.
Go Truex!!!!!

...It's really getting bad out here too...

...You might do a search for Daytona 500 shuttle in your area...Pay cheap and don't have to worry about the traffic getting out of there..;)

...BTW, nice job on the bachelor pad..:biggthump..You need to call back up north and tell them the weather forecast...:D

Yeah Florida is rough in my line of work at the moment. Luckily with my life style, No kids, pets, mortgage payments etc.. I have no problem skating by during these tough times. Others unfortunately can not say the same.

As for the shuttle, I will look into it. Thanks.

Thanks for the compliment on the little bachelor pad.

And do not worry. I rub in the weather forecasts to all my boys back home every chance I get.
They can get back at me during hurricane season.:thumbdwn:
Thanks again.

Check out the Speedway web site. Probably have some free/cheap parking w/shuttle bus availability.
I really like attending races, now usually at MIS, but I do miss the replays. Just cant see it as good "in person". However, seeing and being there is a thrill. There is a "feel" to being there. Cant explain it any better but you will know what I mean after the race.

I can only imagine!
I have been to a ton of small local track races but never a Nascar race.
I am thinking the Daytona 500 should be a pretty cool race for my first Nascar event!!!!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Speaking of the small track thing. If any of you guys are ever in the Ocala FL. area, Feel free to check out the Ocala Speedway (http://www.ocalaspeedway.com/). Little dirt track 4 miles down the road from me.
Bunch of rednecks driving em' like they stole em'. Whole lot of fun! I love it there.

Well here is something that I have to rub in.
Because nobody I know down here likes the races I figured I would just go alone and score a single ticket from a scalper.
Then I decided to put an add on craigslist that I was looking to buy 1.
So I got an email from a guy saying he had a free one no strings attached.
I figured it was a scam!
Well I called him and he said he works at the Daytona Experience, Got a free ticket and couldnt use it and wanted to give it to someone who really wanted to go to the race.
So long story short, When I met him at Daytona today, He gave me the FREE ticket to the 500.
He then asked me if I was going to go to the Camping World 300 today while I was there. I told him no because I did not have a ticket. He then said here you go and handed me a ticket for the race.
I got a ticket for both the 300 and 500 today for free!
Not a bad day:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

As for the parking thing, There is a ton of places to park for free. I have no idea why people would pay up to $50 to park:crazy:

I thought about trying it out today at the race, but I did not bring a ton of coin seeing as how I didnt expect to be at the race when I left my house.
It was either buy beer or rent fan view.
You do the math :chug:

we went to the pepsi/coke race for the last two years. There is a spot where there is a big lit up construction sign saying parking thata-way. Might say buses. Anyway, you turn off, go down the road, turn and head into a dirt lot. There will be buses that take you back to the track. totally free

I get you now! I went to the 300 today and it was very cool to be there in person but you do get a much better look on tv.
One thing that really surprised me was the speed.
Everyone has always told me "You gotta see a Nascar race live. You will not believe how fast they really go!".
Well I went to the 300 today and yes they do screw around that track for sure! But to me it looks faster on tv with all the new camera angles and all. Maybe with everyone building it up in my head, My expectations were set higher then they should have been. Dont get me wrong. It was awesome and I can not wait for the race tomorrow.
I will say that being there today had a "rock concert" feel to it which I love, And I am sure the 500 will be even more intense!
Enjoy the race ya'll

Just walk down to the track wall when the cars are going by and you can feel the air as they pass by. Almost like the concusion from an explosion.
Its worth the walk. At MIS you are about 6 to 8 feet away from the track and the roar & wind is amazing. Raises "goose bumps", if you know what I mean.
Congrats on your ticket. Good people...good luck.

Those cars are slow go to a top fuel drag race and see some real speed:D It feels like your body is going to get torn apart from all the vibration 30 feet away from them.

I have never been but plan to some day. Sounds like a blast!
I did do the G-Force drag racers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nCcleHlS3o) at Old town usa and it gave me mucho respect for the guys that actually drive the real cars. The G force is so intense that I have no idea how they keep the cars under control.
Anyway, I am off to Daytona.
Enjoy the race y'all!

....Be sure to take rain gear....They are calling for rain and since the track has lights, it may be a long day....
