we saw this in maui last month on our honeymoon. this is on a very narrow, winding road, heading up the side af a volcano. the speed limit is 20-30 miles per hour all the way up. this guy seemed to be going a little too fast for the wet conditions of the day, and slid off the road. good news, though...noone was injured. we came upon this whoops about five minutes after it ocurred and all the occupants were piling into the back of a ford pickup. good news for them!

Was there a turn at the top corner of the picture? Looks like he might've come around a corner too fast judging by the knocked down roadsign.

yep, grant there was a very sharp turn there. that was all that road was. that particular stretch of road was about 20 or 25 miles of turn after turn. it was the kind of road that would have been tons of fun in a ferrari of something else that handled well. i had great time on it in the j**p that we rented for the week.
