I was just wondering if i could go down to 235/75/r16 tires for winter on my explorer. Stock is 255/70/r16 but someone has those 235 winter tires for sale that are in good shape, should i go for it?

You'll be fine with the 235/75s. They're actually almost identical in diameter to your current tires. You're losing a little bit of width, but narrower tires are generally regarded as better for winter conditions. I say go for it if the price is right.
