Is it possible to swap my 4.0L for a conventional carboreted noncomputer run 302? What systems in the car will be thrown off by not having the computer hooked up? I am very interested in this so if you have so info I would appreciate it but it will be many years before I could even dream of doing this? I will drive the 4.0L that is in it to death and then start dreaming?

First it depends on if you can do it in your state. Here is Colorado you can't put a older motor into a newer vehicle so here you can't do it.
I think it would be a lot of work. You would have to change the fuel pump, and I think it might mess up the instrument panel.
Maybe some of the guys that are working on there swaps can help you out more.

I am pretty sure that oknut put a non fuel injected 302 in his explorer. Do a search for his username and you can get to his website to check it out.
