97' ford escort, have fuel, have spark, will not start..Check engine light was on before it died..Checked all the basic, full of fuel, battery charged, no loose conections...Turn key over, motor turns, the right speed, but it won't even try to start..

Do you know fuel is getting to the engine or do you just know the tank is full of gas? Can you hear the fuel pump pressurizing the system when you first turn the key on?
It kind of sounds to me like the engine isn't getting any gas.
Also, since the check engine light came on pull the codes to see what caused that.

how many miles on those ignition parts?

100,000 plus..took to shop today..keep you informed

You might wanna check the Fuel Pump Relay.

Checked everything I could, timing belt, fuel pressure, getting spark, should start, I'm thinking it could be in the security system, anyway, the ford garage has it now.with alittle luck, they will be gentle..
