I want to upgrade the speakers in my eddie bauer. It has the (attempt at) premium sound system and I was wondering what is a good set of plug and play speakers? Also is there any 6x9 speakers in the car? Also is there a way to upgrade to a better subwoofer?

i did this with my '04. I went from a Base radio to an Audiophile. In doing so i discovered some things you might want to be aware of. Hopefully it helps.

In short what i discovered is that the OEM radio is Calibrated for cheap speakers, replace one set then they all have to go. In hindsight an aftermarket HU with aftermarket amps, would be the best way to go, imho. if you have a lot of funds. . . .

I have a kenwood deck so can that just work for me by replacing the speakers?

so aftermarket Kenwood HU with replacement speakers would be good. Problem i had with aftermarket was that i had the steering wheel controls, rear DVD player and both would need adapter to work with aftermarket HU (about $100 each). If you don't have those options anything i would guess would be a lot easier and cheaper. But those stock speakers are really cheap. . .
