I have KYB shocks, but I think I am an extreme minority here with these, so you don't have to put another category. However, I would like to have Rancho 9000s, so I voted for those.

Found out My Brother installed Monroe Reflex Shocks. I asked for Edlebrock IAS. Are they any good. I
've have my Explorer For about 2 months. The paper work is killing me. I have no Idea if they are any good. The one speed bump I can go over doesn't tell much. But they seem a bit stiff to me.

Maybe I'll go for a drive and this time go fasted. Do they Suck Bumps

i haven't gotten them yet, but in a few weeks, i plan to get the bilsteins.

i have tokico because my dad got them put on at big o tires. they actually feel pretty good. so i am not voting till i get my explorer pro comps

Ordered Edelbrock IAS kast week and they should be in this week. So I voted those

I guess the shocks you need depends on the application that you are going to use it for. I know that lifted truck people prefer the Ranchos (correct me if I'm wrong) and lowered ones prefer the lowered Edelbrock IAS. I'm lowered so I voted IAS.

I just put on Rancho RS9000X's last week. I love the ability to adjust the ride.

I've got Explorer Procomp shocks on that my dad put on it years ago. The ride is a bit on the stiff side, and she dives under braking. I'm looking to switch them out with Rancho 5000s.

hey guys, i don't want to change the direction of the thread, but I am thinking about replacing my stock shocks when I add my shackles, AAL and do the torsion twist for a 2inch lift soon. I don't offroad much, so I still need a on road type ride. but I wanted to know what you guys would recommend to reaplce the factory shocks, prices and where. Thanks!:D

I have been running with Bilsteins for 1.5 years in my stock height 93' explorer. They are far greater than stock on road, but I don't have enough offroad experience to give an opion.

Well on one I have Skyjackers, One I have Trailmaster and the last one has dual James Duff.

They said they would but I havne't seen any yet. My dad has them on his '01 F-250 4x4. There a little stiff but nice!;)

arent they adjustable? so couldnt stiff be dialed out?

I just put on a set of Monroe sensatrack on the front and rear of my 2002 explorer sport. Man! what a difference. Much better ride and handling with the new shocks. Wish i had done it sooner.

well, i ended up getting the rancho rs 9000x's. i put them on yesterday, and DAMN do they make the truck ride better!!

Sorry for the bump, but........

Since I was on a very tight budget, I just put on some KYB's and they're good for the money and highway driving.

The reason I was on a tight budget is because I also needed new radius arm bushings and an alignment. Here's what made the biggest differences:

#1 goes to proper alignment. Even after new radius arm bushings and new shocks, nothing made the difference of a good alignment.
#2 goes to the new urethane raduis arm bushings. This killed the noise and some swaying.
#3 goes to the new kyb shocks. At 20 bucks a shock, they only made a difference up front since my monroes were shot out.

I feel they need to be stiffer so if I were to do it all over again, I'd get the kybs in the back (Unless you do towing) and something stiffer up front. If I had the money, I'd get the rancho 9000's. :)

Don't let that suspension get out of check!! :) It's almost like driving a new truck. I'm going to check out and possible replace any other worn bushings.

Stockers with 108000 miles :p
