View Full Version : Window Sticker Poll FlyAU 03-05-2001, 04:03 PM OK, here's the window sticker poll. leebo 03-05-2001, 04:15 PM Fly.....I made it so that the poll ends next monday. That way the poll isn't in affect after the stickers are already made. If you wish for me to make it longer just yell. I would like to see a time limit though to help with disk space. Also....I'll leave this up, but make sure that Rick is aware of this and that all the rules in the "group purchase" forum are followed. No Exceptions. Thank You Lee FlyAU 03-05-2001, 04:20 PM Originally posted by leebo Fly.....I made it so that the poll ends next monday. That way the poll isn't in affect after the stickers are already made. Thanks for the heads-up. :) Peter Weber 03-05-2001, 05:46 PM I'm not a sticker person (window or otherwise), but come on, guys. The sticker for this board is 'Serious Explorations'. This is Rick's site, that's the sticker he came up with. As far as I'm concerned, you can stick anything on your vehicle, but this is the 'Serious Explorations' website and that is the official sticker. By the way, the other four choices have been around for eons, either by the Jeep people or as common bumper stickers. At least be original and come up with something new. Dre 03-05-2001, 06:07 PM like I said, "Serious Explorations" stickers works best for me. Lata, BlueDogBandit 03-05-2001, 07:13 PM This was a topic around the camp fire this weekend at TDS at T-Haven. I love the stickers we have now....but we need a logo. Some king of picture/design. From what I gathered, Rick agrees. He is just waiting for Colin to finish the design. We talked about stickers and flags. Peter, I don't think they are trying to replace the web sites current sticker, just trying to offer more. There are plenty of out here that are in love with there trucks, and just can't get enough. This is a perfect example of that. I do agree with you on one thing, if we are going to use something, let's be wise enough to think of something original. donaldbc 03-05-2001, 07:26 PM I agree, I have just joined as an Elite Explorer and haven't received my club sticker yet. But I have viewed them and am anxious to receive it and want the club to keep it, I was under the impression that we were just trying to make a different sticker, not to replace the club sticker just to have another one also. I also like the idea of creating and producing a logo, maybe for the Elite Explorers only.l Peter Weber 03-05-2001, 08:13 PM Wasn't Maniak working on a logo some time ago? If the idea is to come up with an additional sticker, the original shouldn't be a choice. If it is, it means the intend to replace it if another get's more votes. Sorry if I'm kind of brusk, I'm not trying to offend anybody. Just stating my opinion. Dre 03-05-2001, 08:17 PM well, let's not forget that this is not Rick's only job to run this board. I've been an Elite ever since the begining of the Elite thing and haven't gotten my sticker yet. Patience fellow Explorers. As far as another sticker for Explorer only???? let's be original. Don't use someone else's slogan. later, BlueDogBandit 03-05-2001, 11:09 PM that someday Tom Rios will take ME to the Rubicon and get me lost. Because I really want to be able to be apart of the "FAKRWEE" tribe. If anyone comes up with something cool, please let me know, I would love to check it out. Maybe something like "I'm not a Soccer mom" or "It's not just a grocery getter." It's hard trying to come up with something that hasn't been used. riffman 03-05-2001, 11:26 PM hehehe..wierd..i actually already have a buddy of mine making me a sticer that says "if you can read this flip me over". odd coincidence!! Peter Weber 03-05-2001, 11:35 PM Blayne What's that comment about the Rubicon and getting lost? BlueDogBandit 03-05-2001, 11:42 PM Tom was wearing his "FAKRWEE Tribe" T-shirt this weekend, and said you couldn't belong to their little club, unless you got lost on the Rubicon with them. I'm assuming you should be included in the club, unless they did that on a different trip. BlueDogBandit 03-05-2001, 11:49 PM "That's right, an EXPLORER, and don't worry, I've got plenty of room for you after your truck get's STUCK!" I know it's long, but the thought is kinda funny. or maybe: "Your right, I don't understand, and don't think I want to. EXPLORE ON!" "Why just get there, when you can get there in style!" "Exploring, Exploring, Explored!" Derrick C. 03-06-2001, 12:52 AM I would put the first one on my rig. Everyone is always giving me crap about owning a modified Explorer. Elder Elemental Evil 03-06-2001, 07:23 AM I agree in thinking that it is kind of silly to have the 'explorer4x4.com/Serious Exploration' stickers on the poll, I think that everyone already has those. I have two of the Explorer4x4.coms, and a Serious Exploration on the way. :D Ru Dawg 03-06-2001, 10:44 AM I guess mine didn't make the cut for the poll!!! "Explore..........then you will understand" Peter Weber 03-06-2001, 01:50 PM Originally posted by BlueDogBandit Tom was wearing his "FAKRWEE Tribe" T-shirt this weekend, and said you couldn't belong to their little club, unless you got lost on the Rubicon with them. I'm assuming you should be included in the club, unless they did that on a different trip. If I remember correctly, Tom and his cousin Ralph had those T-shirts already in Moab last year. So maybe he got 'lost' (hehe) the first time he did the Rubicon a few years back. I was just wondering if the getting lost was referring to a little incident we had at Spider Lake when we camped there. Besides Tom's Magellan GPS we also had a compass. It pointed W what actually was SE, in other words it was off by 150 degrees. Must have been some ore deposit or whatever because it was correct again later on. Anyway, to make sure we took the right trail out in the morning, I went for a little scouting hike in the evening. Since I was gone over an hour and it was getting dusk by the time I got back, Tom, Colin and Winter started wondering if I got lost and were ready to go out on a search and rescue mission. Cameron 03-06-2001, 02:47 PM I like it! "Why just get there, when you can get there in style!" Dre 03-06-2001, 05:10 PM After a while seams that "Exploring Everything Under the Sun" looks better to me. I voted but Serious Explorations should not be even counted despite the thing that it's leading right now. Later, Brian Ward 03-06-2001, 09:43 PM Originally posted by BlueDogBandit It's hard trying to come up with something that hasn't been used. I couldn't agree more! Some people don't realize that most ideas are born from similar ideas. And as far as being 'original' goes, that's fine too. I just thought, why not capitalize on a slightly modified version of an existing slogan. That happens all the time anyways! Look at that "Calvin" sticker where he's peeing on a Chevy symbol! Did it quit being original when they ended up having the same sticker with Ford and Dodge as well as Chevy? Of course not! Like I said, if someone has an idea, great! But that doesn't mean people should knock anyone else's suggestions. Maniak 03-08-2001, 10:02 AM Peter, Here is the design I came up with (I just used yellow/red since they stand out).. http://mark.legendz.com/explorer/truckhaven/adjusted4x4.jpg I designed it for a 3 color print on white paper to keep the cost down.. If Rick asks (or someone who will be getting these made), I can call in a favor from a graphic artist for another design.. or two :) donaldbc 03-08-2001, 10:05 AM looks good mark I like it, Dre 03-09-2001, 05:54 PM It's not that hard to come up with something original.... I think, Here's what I've got: "What is that Jeep thing anyway?" I posted it in the other thread as well. how's that for a change? jimbo74 03-09-2001, 07:41 PM since i know there are jeepers here, really what does "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand!" mean? leebo 03-11-2001, 04:03 PM Don't forget.....poll ends tommarow. Dre 03-16-2001, 02:06 AM so? What is that Jeep thing anyway?? huh? olivesman 03-20-2001, 03:55 PM how about: If you can read this, my truck is WAY to clean! (got mud?) olivesman 03-20-2001, 04:00 PM that design looks really sweet! can i get a t-shirt? donaldbc 03-20-2001, 04:23 PM What have we decided on the stickers? Dre 03-21-2001, 01:22 PM I'm gonna have 10 stickers made that will say "What is that Jeep thing anyway?". Cost? $5.00 each (that's my cost). Anybody want one? I might have to put it on the windshield sice I have no room left on the rear tailgate window. Later, leenjen 05-20-2002, 02:29 PM "If You Can Read This, Please Turn Me Over" (Mounted Upside-Down) LOL.. my friend had a sticker that said that on his jeep. he rolled it in my driveway and that was the end of it... |
