I searched for this, but couldn't find anything. I want to remove the center console part, because I want to wire my cigarette lighter to my ignition, so its not always on. I am just wondering how to get to it. I know its a stupid question, but I don't want to break anything. Anyone know how to remove this, or to get to the cigarette lighter connection easily?

If you are talking about the premium console like I have in my '97 Sport, both black parts of the console pop straight up. If you are talking about the accesory plug on the side of the console then all you will need to remove is the black cubby hole part. It has plastic clips that pop in to hold it in place. Slip something thin under neith it and pop it up to release the tabs. Once you pull the cubby hole section out, the back of the accessory plug is right there.

If you are referring to the portion of center console where the message center would be for those lucky enough to have one, removal is pretty easy. All you have to do is place you thumb on the inside edge of the forward compartment, and your fingers on the outside. Then all you have to do is squeeze, and compress the sides of the panel. You may/may not hear it pop loose, then lift up on that side of the panel slightly. Do the same thing on the other side. Once both front clips are free, just pull the forward edge up slowly until the rear clips pop free.
