View Full Version : HELP! Cleaning Sand-covered windows!!

After going offroading, i sometimes get mud/sand all over my windows. i dont want to scratch the glass up. what can i do to get the sand out of all the groves?? also, is there anything i can do about any scratches from sand already in the glass?

Just hose them off really well on full spray before you wash the truck. Thats all you can do. For the grooves try a toothbrush or cotton swab. If the scratches that are there are light, you can try toothpaste or most detailing shops have window polishing equipment.

I heard your reply on toothpaste to polish the windshield and i have never heard that before. How would you do that ?

Rain-X also makes a glass polish for removing light scratches. I used it on my '92 and it did pretty well.
