It's like a headphone jack, but only has 2 terminals, not 3 like a normal headphone jack. Brian8 04-05-2001, 11:55 AM My cobra has the same jack in the back. yob_yeknom 04-05-2001, 12:39 PM My Uniden also has a PA jack. Good luck on finding a place to mount the speaker! On my '95 I had to fab some bracketry and move the cruise control box over and down to mount it under the hood. Click on the link in my sig and then click on the PA speaker link for a pic. aldive 04-05-2001, 01:02 PM If you want a much better PA system, look at the Loud Hailers from a marine supply store. Alec 04-05-2001, 04:54 PM My speaker came with a bracket attached. All I did was secure this bracket to the plastic air scoop that's behind the airdam (that directs air up into the radiator) with 3 self tapping screws. Took 5 minutes. BoatsRcool 04-18-2001, 07:29 PM big question.... where can I get a pa speaker!?!?! that would be awesome yelling at my friends, and stuff like that hehehe. Radio Shack or similar store or most any marine supply store. yob_yeknom 04-19-2001, 02:57 AM Originally posted by BoatsRcool big question.... where can I get a pa speaker!?!?! that would be awesome yelling at my friends, and stuff like that hehehe. What do yall use yours for? Got mine at Radio Shack for $7.00 I use it to inform other drivers of their poor driving abilities (watch for cops, as this can get you in trouble) and to yell at friends standing outside when I go by. :) Also works great to get people off of your car when they decide to lean on it! Great for scaring the $h!t out of people in parking lots as they walk by... Thanks guys! There is 1 plug in the back of my cb that says speaker, i guess that will work right? Alec 04-19-2001, 11:21 AM Um, if your CB only has one plug in the back that says "speaker", that's probably not for a PA. Many truckers attach an external noise-cancelling speaker to their CBs and place them behind their heads so they can hear the CB over all the truck noise. That's what that plug is for. Sorry man, looks like you're getting another PA system :( There's this one from JCWhitney that doesn't look bad: $42 for everything: http://www.jcwhitney.com/productnoitem.jhtml?CATID=4934 it also has airhorn and sound capability. There's also this one for $50 with a few more goodies: http://www.jcwhitney.com/productnoitem.jhtml?CATID=130167 I looked at some online police eqpt stores and all their PA setups are over $200 for a decent controller and speaker. I'd say grab one of those from JCWhitney. Have fun and good luck! BoatsRcool 04-19-2001, 05:16 PM Ok cool, I guess maybe just get one from jcwhitney. IT has sounds and stuff. Where could I mount that microphone though? actually, i think im gonna go with the more expensive one. Does this thing come with the needed wiring? Alec 04-19-2001, 05:32 PM I believe it comes with all the wiring needed between the control unit, speaker, and mic. I'm not sure if it comes with the power lead for the battery or the inline fuse that you'll want to put in the positive lead from the battery. 914x4sport 04-19-2001, 05:35 PM Originally posted by Alec Um, if your CB only has one plug in the back that says "speaker", that's probably not for a PA. Actually most all decent CB's have both an external speaker jack AND a PA jack..I know my cobra does...The PA is pretty loud, but what I have decided to do is run from the PA jack on the cb into the high input of an amplifier(probably 200watts) and then to a heavy-duty pa speaker..Thsi should get some attention...heh heh FlyAU 04-19-2001, 06:37 PM Originally posted by yob_yeknom Good luck on finding a place to mount the speaker! It's mounted to the front of the left wheel-well. http://www.auburn.edu/~trippmr/mvc-159s.jpg BoatsRcool 04-19-2001, 10:21 PM thanks alec I spend $60 tonight!
