Hi everyone i have the stock "self deflating" 235/75/15 firestones on my 98 and i am looking to get 31" bfg at ko's .
Well my question is how rough will the ride be compared to the stock firestones and also will there be alot of tire noise at highway speeds ??
Thanks guys !

Hey guy - Any AT tire will be well behaved on the road. Adjust the tire pressure lower for smoother ride and higher for better mileage. Check into the Michelins as well. I used to have a pair and they went 60k before I sold them to get the mudders...

Hi "fm explorer" ,
Thanks for your reply so if i increase the tire pressure i will have better gas milage or tire life ?
Any one else have any knowledge on how the bfg at ko's run on pavement ? Are they noisier than the firestones or the same ?
Thanks again !!
I think FMExplorer meant better gas mileage with that statement.
The BFG A/T's are great on road. Maybe a hair noisier than the firestone wilderness ATs. They also do great off-road if you're into that.
I'd also suggest checking out Michelin's A/T tire. I've heard great things about it.

Yeah - I was talking about mileage. Tire wear is different. I used to have the Michelin LTX and they went 60k - still had tons of life too - well worth it.

I have the BFG AT ko's, 31-10.50-15's The street ride is GREAT compared to some other tires, muds that is...Theyre great off road, no noise on the highway, wear is EXCELLENT, higher tire pressure will give you a little better mileage I suppose, and better wear, just dont go too much, you want all the tread on the ground...

I used to have a set of BFG Long Trails. they were an excellent all around tire and were rated the best SUV tire from consumer reports. i hear many good things about them and had a very good experiance. W ewill see how these firestones perform after they get some milage. hopefully thery recall them and I can get sone Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires. Those look really cool too.
Guggy -
That's the best tire choice for your money (BFG AT KO). I have them on my '91 and they are not noisy at all. You'd be surprise at how quiet it actually is for an AT tire. The KOs will be a little stiffer because of the tripple sidewalls construction but I think it's safer because it does not flex in corners. Even if you have not made any suspension modifications to your vehicle, the addition of the KOs would be a major enhancement over the existing crapstones.
Only negative comment I have about the KO is that BFG/Michelin know they have a good product so the prices keep going up.

O.K. it seems that i'm going to have to get bfg at ko's installed because you all have made me feel like they will ride a great deal better than the firestones.
Thanks for all your imput everyone !!!!!!!
