Now that Ford is willing to replace my ATs, I'm looking for suggestions for the replacement. I drive my '99 EB about 75% pavement, 20% sand, 5% other light off road. I was looking at the Michelin Cross Terraine SUV but they read like and pretty-much look like street tires to me. Any one ever use them off road, sand, whatever?
Thanks

Unless you're willing to wait a pretty good while, you won't have a choice. Either that or go after them TODAY before they disappear. Both Ford and independent tire dealers are using anything and everything they can get their hands on. If its round, black and made of rubber, you'll see it mounted up on an Explorer near you. There just aren't enough tires available to fill the need - especially the 235/75r15. Last I heard, Ford was paying to have additional molds made with Michelin in an effort to boost production and tire molds aren't cheap.
