Ok...when i open the fuel cap, i see the fuel filler mouth rusted. Is there any way i can remove the tube and refinish it, or replace that part alone? I see the assembly is held there by 3 bolts....anyone done this before?

Could it be a combination of cheap metal construction and moisture in the air?

Hey i didnt think they used salt in COWTOWN anymore , anyway mine is sufferig the same way I thought it was the salt laying up there in the winter, you should be able to replace it.

We don't use salt in "Cowtown" any longer. In fact, it's a new material that is not corrosive, but does hurt the paint if not removed when winter is over.
This truck is about 6yrs old. The rust looks like it's been there for a while. Perhaps it formed when we WERE using road salt. In any case, i'm looking into replacing it as soon as possible.

Yeah mines like that too, but worse. I have a rust hole next to where one of the bolts are.
